Identify the Right Gen AI Projects to Pursue 😉 Gen AI is here to stay, offering the potential for much greater productivity and performance. But how do you determine when—and whether—these tools are truly valuable? Here are three ideas: Fund “Responsible Rebels.” Empower innovative employees to experiment and drive value with a small innovation fund. Have project teams present to senior executives for funding. Choose Practical, Quick-Win Projects. Opt for gen AI projects with fast cycle times and measurable outcomes within a fiscal year. Ensure costs and benefits reside in the same organizational unit for prioritization and support. Link to the Firm’s Identity. Align gen AI projects with your organization’s purpose and key goals. Ensure these projects help fulfill the company’s core mission. #GenAI #Innovation #Productivity #BusinessStrategy #AIProjects #Leadership #FutureOfWork #QuickWins #OrganizationalGrowth This tip is adapted from “The 6 Disciplines Companies Need to Get the Most Out of Gen AI,” by Tom Davenport and John J. 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗢𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 & 𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗜/𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗔𝗜 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗪𝗮𝘆 Considering Key Aspects... While everyone is talking about the transformative potential of AI and GenAI across all industries, it becomes paramount to approach their integration with a strategic mindset. Evaluating how AI/GenAI can augment what truly matters is how this should be approached: • 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 - instead of productivity • 𝗢𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 & 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 - instead of introducing AI-based technology that is supposed to solve functional or non-priority problems While the buzz is still huge and we’re all surrounded by thousands of AI-enabled offerings screaming for attention, it's crucial to take a step back and carefully assess how each AI/GenAI technology or initiative aligns with business strategy, goals, and organizational values. This ensures that they genuinely contribute to meaningful progress without undermining any major elements of an organization. #AIIntegration #GenAI #BusinessTransformation #OrganizationalEmpowerment #FutureOfWork #BusinessStrategy #Leadership #Xelense #PeopleHub

As an experienced board coach and accountability partner for private and family businesses, I've noticed a concerning trend from what I see: many boards are hindering innovation and growth, particularly regarding AI. In today's rapidly evolving tech landscape, boards must be more than financial overseers. They need to actively shape strategic direction and drive disruptive initiatives. However, many remain stuck in risk-averse mindsets, prioritising short-term gains over long-term vision. This reluctance to embrace new technologies like AI stifles a company's ability to compete and thrive. It's time for boards to become proactive innovation drivers. They should: * Actively participate in setting the company's AI strategy. * Allocate resources for AI R&D. * Have a culture of experimentation and risk-taking. I believe by embracing these changes, boards can help their companies capitalise on the AI revolution and stay ahead of the curve. What are your thoughts? Are boards doing enough to drive innovation in the age of AI? Share your insights below. #AI #innovation #boardgovernance #leadership

Does Your Company Feel Like This Ship Called 'Future'? 🚢🌊 Many companies are struggling to make future-oriented decisions in the face of AI and technology transformation. While it may seem easy to cut costs by offering packages and letting people go, driving real change is far more challenging. The reality is that transformation starts with leadership. If the mindset isn't ready for the future, the ship is already sinking. ⚠️ By focusing too much on quick fixes and cutting the very resources needed for growth—knowledgeable and passionate employees leaving in droves—companies risk losing their future competitiveness. It’s time to rethink and lead with a vision that embraces the future, not just reacts to it. 💡 #Leadership #AI #DigitalTransformation #FutureOfWork #Innovation #ChangeManagement #LeadershipMindset #BusinessTransformation

AI transformation is like managing a river’s flow—it needs direction, collaboration, and balance. Over the years, I’ve observed that there’s no single blueprint to drive AI adoption in a meaningful way. But the approaches we take—whether top-down, bottom-up, or somewhere in between—can define success. A top-down approach works when leaders have a clear vision and can mobilize resources effectively. But it risks missing the grassroots realities—the workflows and day-to-day challenges that only those on the ground truly understand. On the other hand, a bottom-up approach is where magic happens. It taps into the creativity of the team, allowing real innovation to sprout from those closest to the problem. The challenge, however, is ensuring that these efforts are aligned and not scattered. What’s often overlooked is what I’d call a collaborative approach—a blend where leaders set the vision but actively invite feedback from every level of the organization. This way, AI doesn’t remain a tool for a few decision-makers but becomes a shared asset that impacts everyone positively. Building an IT company from scratch taught me one thing: meaningful transformations happen when leadership and execution align like two wheels of a bicycle. AI, in its true potential, isn’t just a tool for efficiency; it’s a force to help people and processes evolve together. The key is simple: Keep learning, stay adaptable, and let the people closest to the problem guide the solution. It’s not just about adopting AI but making it human-centric and value-driven. What approach has worked for you? Would love to hear your thoughts. #AIAdoption #Leadership #Innovation
