🚩 Assert Your Dominance Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus, a frontrunner in the new Le Mans Hypercar class, has committed to producing road-going versions of its race cars, Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus plans to deliver 24 examples of the road-going 007S, priced at $2.9 million each. The 007S is powered by an uprated variant of the twin-turbocharged V8 engine used in the race car, producing around 1,000 horsepower. With a targeted wet weight of just 12,800 lbs, the 007S will offer immense performance thanks to its power-to-weight ratio. Producing road-going versions was one of the founding requirements for the new Le Mans Hypercar class, although this homologation rule was later scrapped. Despite the rule change, Glickenhaus remains committed to building the 007S as a road car in addition to its race program. Glickenhaus views the 007S road car project as a 'once in a lifetime chance' to offer customers a true road-legal Le Mans racer. Over 20,000 hours of collaborative engineering from respected partners went into developing the 007 race and road cars. Producing road-going versions was one of the founding requirements for the new Le Mans Hypercar class. However, the homologation rule has now been thrown out. Despite the rule change, Glickenhaus remains committed to building the 007S as a road car in addition to its race program. Boasting a central driver three-seat cabin layout, it represents a fusion of race-inspired engineering and road-going practicality. And, for asserting dominance over your passengers! For those who believe that 'too much horsepower' is simply not a thing, the 007S is here to reinforce your belief.

The Mercedes-Benz 190E Cosworth. Mercedes-Benz's collaboration with Cosworth birthed one of the most iconic cars of its era: the Mercedes-Benz 190E Cosworth. Developed for Group A touring car racing it had a lively 2.3-liter inline-four engine built by Cosworth, with a full 16 valves and dual overhead camshafts. With 185 horsepower under the bonnet, it packed a serious punch for its day. But it wasn't just about raw power; the 190E Cosworth was engineered with enhanced suspension, brakes, and aerodynamics this gave it fantastic handling on both track and road. The success of the 190E 2.3-16 in motorsport, mainly in DTM racing, helped to cement its reputation as an icon of the era and with a combination of luxury, performance, and motorsport heritage why wouldn't you love this 80's legend #MercedesBenz #Cosworth #AutomotiveHistory #ClassicCars

The first development with the participation of Sayer became the Jaguar C-Type (and Jaguar XK120-C), the racing version of the Jaguar XK120 is built in a straight body. In 1951, this car was used by Jaguar for the first time to win the Le Mans race. The next car was the Jaguar D-Type, which appeared in 1954, a stronger car with new aerodynamic shapes. It will be smaller and more refined than the Jaguar C-type, and will immediately sit in another place in the Le Mans races of 1954. In 1955, there was a terrible accident in this area, one of the worst in the history of auto transport, which caused the death of more than 80 people. To avoid panic among the spectators, the race was continued, and the Jaguar D-type moved in it, after the leading Mercedes-Benz team began racing. Regardless of the outcome, the tragedy took a heavy toll on Lyons and burned out all the corporate racing programs that focused on the production of road sports cars. The factory team was sold privately and, under the support of Jaguar, raced at Le Mans for several decades. An attempt was made to sell the Jaguar D-type, which differed little from the road cars of that time, and was also less comfortable. The car has never been used, including at a high price. The deluxe Jaguar D-type, released under the Jaguar XK-SS brand, also did not know its buyers, and sold about tens of cars. And then you decided to develop a new car, using all your savings in racing to the top. #jaguar #racing #lemans #autoindustry #development🚗

🚩 Mr Stroll & the God Odin In Norse mythology, the Valkyrie were a group of maidens who served the god Odin and were sent by him to the battlefields to choose the slain worthy of a place in Valhalla. Aston Martin and Heart of Racing will enter two Valkyrie hypercars in the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans. Their objective is an overall victory in the Hypercar class. A bit of history: 2016 Aston Martin and Red Bull Racing partnered to develop a hypercar, initially codenamed AM-RB 001. Also, a way of stopping Adrian Newey from leaving to join Ferrari by allowing him to be the 'Lead Designer.' (ref: Previous article). The brief was to create a road-legal car with Formula 1 performance. The name, the Aston Martin Valkyrie, was announced in 2017. Cosworth built the V12 engine, and Rimac provided the hybrid battery system. In 2018, prototype testing began with a focus on aerodynamics. In 2019, the 6.5-litre V12 engine was announced, claiming 1,000 bhp plus an electric motor for a combined 1,160 bhp. Also, the Valkyrie appeared at events like the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Production plans were limited to 150 road cars and 25 track-only versions (Valkyrie AMR Pro). During 2020, Covid inevitably slowed development. In 2021, final rigorous testing and first deliveries planned. Ten cars, fewer than planned, were delivered in the last quarter of 2021, causing the company to miss its profit target. In 2022, full-scale production starts at Aston Martin's Gaydon facility. However, there are drawbacks to owning a vehicle designed like a Formula One racing car. According to a Bloomberg report, servicing the Valkyrie could cost £355,000 over three years. Returning to the opening paragraph, if you replace maidens with sales ladies, the God Odin with the God Stroll, and Aston Martin in front of Valhalla, it kinda makes sense.

Between 1950 and 1959, the 24 hours of Le Mans was dominated by British built and designed Jaguar cars. Five of the 10 races were won with drivers in Jaguar cars, including a hat-trick between 1955 and 1957 for the Jaguar D-Type. The Pomeroy Index is a way of measuring the relative speed of cars from different eras. The index effectively gives an idea of the advantage in the lap time that a car would have over another car racing in an entirely different era. It can also be used to compare cars that have not competed against each other. #PomeroyIndex

On Day 05, June 19 Race Car Vehicle Dynamics As a race engineer, Rex Keen said the goal is to set up a car to meet the specific preferences and requirements of the driver, ensuring the vehicle performs as desired at the right times and in the right ways. Many factors come into play when it comes to the handling of a race car, such as weight distribution, wheelbase, and the car's center of gravity. Understanding fundamental concepts such as understeer and oversteer is crucial for a race engineer working closely with a driver. Even if a car is perfectly set up, the results can vary based on the driver's inputs or in endurance racing scenarios where multiple drivers are sharing the same car.

Having worked with NASCAR and clients related to Formula 1 race car design, I've come to appreciate the excitement, speed, and yes, even the noise of professional auto racing. If you've ever been on pit road during a race at #Daytona, you know what I'm talking about. That's why I'm genuinely anticipating the rise of Formula E. While it may take time for high-performance E racing to gain widespread acceptance and viewership, it's worth the wait for both sustainability and diversification. It's a natural progression of the amazing science and technology that already drive racing, and it's where we need to go from an environmental perspective. #FormulaE #AutoRacing #Sustainability #Innovation
