Recently, during a catch-up with a colleague, I found myself sharing some of the frustrations I've encountered in the mining industry. Specifically, I discussed the potential for vast improvements in efficiency and benefits, and the challenge of encouraging others to envision and embrace change. My colleague recommended watching a Disney short titled "Piper," and its message resonated with me. I wanted to share this reflection with you all because "Piper" beautifully illustrates how we often overlook simpler, more efficient ways of doing things simply because we're accustomed to "how it's always been done." This short film serves as a metaphor for innovation and resilience in the face of tradition. It reminds us that breaking away from the pack to explore new methods can lead to efficiency and success, even if the path seems daunting at first. It's a call to action for us to be open to change and willing to see beyond the conventional. At times, it may be hard to maintain the vision to explore, innovate, and lead, but if we can persevere, a future where efficiency and progress are at the forefront can be unlocked. Because, in the end, efficiency wins out. We just need to be bold enough to take the first step away from the familiar. #Piper #Innovation #Strategy #Change #Learning #Shorts
Glad you loved it! I thought you might as most who look for new and inventive ways to operate know the “big clam” benefit of breaking out of the traditional mold.
