Today is #WorldMenopauseDay, a campaign that aims to raise awareness of the menopause and what adjustments can be made to support those going through it. Did you know that one in six women consider leaving their job in connection to the menopause? With that being said, there's much more work to be done in raising awareness and creating a culture that offers menopausal employees more support. Reflecting on the recent men's-only event at London Gatwick it's clear that this initiative is a groundbreaking step in fostering understanding and support for menopause. Traditionally, menopause has been seen as a women's issue, but this event highlighted the crucial role men can play as allies. By educating themselves about #perimenopause and menopause, men can offer empathy, patience, and practical support to their partners, colleagues, and friends. The event emphasised that #menopause affects everyone indirectly, creating an opportunity for men to engage in meaningful conversations and break the #stigma surrounding this natural life transition. ✨ Today is World Menopause Day, an important moment to raise awareness and foster understanding about menopause in the workplace. At Sophos in the UK and Ireland we launched our Menopause Policy today. This is aimed at offering guidance, education, and resources to ensure that every team member feels informed and empowered. Key initiatives include: ·      Resources for employees and managers to raise awareness, help find support and information ·      Menopause Champions and a Menopause Forum to help provide support systems for those directly experiencing menopause, for colleagues who want to be allies and for those who wish to share their own experiences ·      A new menopause policy to show Sophos’s commitment to providing support for employees By creating an open, supportive environment, we hope to normalise conversations around the menopause and ensure our workplace is inclusive for everyone. #WorldMenopauseDay #MenopauseAwareness #InclusiveWorkplace #EmployeeWellbeing #SophosLife
