Yes, that’s what's behind Premium Holidays. Premium holidays are a sort of insurance break you take. This means that temporarily you stop paying premiums, but your coverage and benefits continue. This seems like your policy is sipping a cocktail by the pool while you take a breather. But do remember, just like a tempting all-you-can-eat buffet, it’s not totally free. You shall take a premium holiday only when you need a bit of financial flexibility. But this could never be your long-term strategy. While insurance is chilling, you still need to make sure that it's ready when needed. So before sending your insurance on a mini vacation through the premium holiday, discuss a bit with your insurance advisor. Ask them whether it’s the right time to take this action or not. We need to talk about Christmas! https://lnkd.in/ev46Udtx Christmas is all-but here and it’s an expensive time for everyone. Whether you’re concerned about making it special for your family, or nervous about the cost of social events, it can be useful to talk to your friends, family, and colleagues about money at this time of year. My colleague Sophie Garrod has shared the below financial guidance information with local press outlets in my region. Why not also check out our blog all about Christmas 1. Why should you talk about money, especially at Christmas? Research from the Money and Pensions Service (MaPS) shows that there are real benefits to talking about money. Those who do were found to make better financial decisions and feel less stressed or anxious, and more in control. However, new research from September shows that we feel more comfortable talking to our friends about sex, relationships and politics than about money problems. We should be talking about money with our friends and family all year round to see the benefits – but even more so at Christmas, which is a particularly expensive time. It’s important to be open with your friends and family about what you can and can’t afford to avoid a financial hangover in the New Year. Stats from 2023 show that more than 1 in 5 people in the South-East planned to borrow money or use credit for Christmas. 2. Christmas cost-cutting conversations One idea is to talk to your partner or family about what your priorities are over the festive season. Pantomimes, Christmas light shows, visits to Santa, Christmas Eve boxes, carol concerts, and work parties can all add up. Figure out what your budget is and pick and choose the events you can afford. This way you can still enjoy the season without the worry of overspending. 3. How to have the money talk Depending on the Christmas money topic and the person you want to talk to, there are a few different ways to have the chat. If it’s a light subject, such as ‘do you fancy getting the turkey this year and I’ll get the desserts’, then just do it in the way you normally communicate – but do it as early as possible to make sure that everyone has time to get organised. If it’s a subject you’re feeling nervous about, then it's a good idea to have a plan. 4. You’re probably not alone You’re probably not the only one of your friends, family, or colleagues who is worried about spending too much money this Christmas. Talking about money can make you feel less alone, and your peers may be grateful that you’ve brought up the conversation. By taking the first step, you’re helping to not only support your budgeting but encouraging others to do the same. Visit MoneyHelper.org.uk for more practical tips and guidance on how to talk about money, including some helpful conversation starters.

A Christmas Reflection: Restoring, Resetting, and Recalibrating for a Secure Future As you celebrate the joy of this Christmas season, I have a question for you: What steps can you take today to create a more secure and abundant future for yourself and your loved ones? The holidays are a time to cherish moments with family and friends, but they’re also an opportunity to pause, restore our focus, and reset our goals. While the season often encourages us to give generously, it’s important to reflect on the long-term impact of our financial choices. Life insurance and financial planning may not be the most festive topics, but they are gifts that keep giving—ensuring protection, peace of mind, and a lasting legacy for the people you hold dear. As we look to 2025, this is the perfect moment to recalibrate, prioritizing: Restoring clarity about financial priorities. Resetting goals for building stability and wealth. Reflecting on the value of security and preparation for life’s unexpected moments. If you’ve been considering how to protect your family’s future, I’d love to help you take the next step. Whether it’s putting a life insurance plan in place, exploring options for your financial goals, or simply starting the conversation, I am here to guide you toward a secure and thriving future. So, as we celebrate the season, I invite you to reflect: What legacy do you want to create for your family in the years ahead? Together, we can ensure that 2025 is not only hearty but also a year of growth, purpose, and financial confidence. Wishing you a joyful Christmas and a prosperous new year! Warm Wishes, Ayanna www.askayanna.com #AskAyanna #MerryChristmas

Why have I just taken great pleasure in putting away the Christmas decorations when I absolutely love having them up? It is a cathartic experience, knowing that Jingle Bells won’t randomly play when I walk past the sensor-playing Rudolph, that I can have my sideboard back with my beautiful lamp. Simply put, it’s the right thing to do at the right time. Let me tell you the sad story of someone who is now a client since this fateful day. Previously, every time they thought about getting a Fire Risk Assessment done in their shop, they just delayed and delayed - something else always got in the way. Now forward wind to a little “teeny” fire they had, because of a faulty plug, luckily no one was injured. Claim on the insurance, naturally? Unfortunately, the insurance company said NO, they won’t pay out because they had no Fire Risk Assessment completed when they should have had one. They have lost about £32,000 between lost income, redecorating costs, paying wages, pensions, NI, when nobody is working, and let’s just say that the fire brigade and neighbours were none too happy! Doing the right thing at the right time, whether it is to be compliant with fire or health and safety regulations or it is downright common sense, will keep you safer, let you sleep better, give you a much happier workforce and keep the £s in your pocket. Now don’t loose sleep over this and let’s have a chat.

Years ago, I heard someone say, “The insurance industry helps people’s dreams come true.” Those words deeply resonated with me, and I often share this sentiment with new professionals entering the field. Think about it: we’re there for some of life’s most exciting moments—new homes, cars, jobs, marriages, babies, and so much more. Without insurance, many of these milestones might not be possible. As we prepare for the holiday season, it’s a good time to reflect on our own dreams. We spend so much of our time helping others achieve theirs, but our personal and professional aspirations matter just as much. Take this season as an opportunity to pause, dream big, and align your actions with those dreams. Let’s step into the new year ready to make them a reality! #DreamBig #InsuranceProfessionals #MakingDreamsHappen #HolidayReflection #InsuranceIndustry #ProfessionalDreams #Inspiration #SeasonOfDreams #AspireAndAchieve #PrepareForSuccess
