Today my team helped launched the #BestColleges for 2025! I think it's important for students to consider what the best fit is for them. You may also want to consider schools with the most students receiving merit scholarships (https://lnkd.in/gaU2WKTb) universities where students graduate with the least amount of debt (https://lnkd.in/gA7JyXnp) or one of our other many college rankings. #usnews   

US News has released their college rankings (https://bit.ly/3ZIkkvv). While the release of these rankings is always a major moment in higher education, it’s important to recognize that not all college rankings are created equal. Over the years, the methodology used by U.S. News has faced increasing scrutiny from universities and educational experts alike. Some institutions have even stopped participating due to concerns about data manipulation and murky ranking criteria. US News and World Report Best Universities and Colleges Ranking. Never been a fan of ranking US universities and colleges, but this links has some really good information for students, counselors and international education professionals when advising potential international students. Just please keep in mind that world class education and opportunities can be found outside this list, often at a much-reduced cost. #usnewsandworldreport #USuniversityrankings

The Metro Atlanta Chamber celebrates the continued excellence of Georgia's colleges and universities as recognized in the 2025 U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges rankings! 🎓 🔸 Georgia Institute of Technology maintained its national position at #33, and was named the #2 most innovative university in the U.S. It also remains a leader in undergraduate computer science programs like AI, cybersecurity, and software engineering. 🔸 Emory University held strong at #24 nationally and ranked #1 for undergraduate nursing programs in the U.S. It continues to be a top-value school, securing the #22 spot. 🔸 Georgia State University surged up 31 spots to #196 nationally, recognized as #5 most innovative and ranked #4 in the nation for undergraduate teaching programs. 🔸 Spelman College continues to set the standard, retaining its spot as the #1 Historically Black College and University (HBCU) nationwide for over a decade! Morehouse College also ranked in the top five at #5. 🔸 Clark Atlanta University improved by two spots to rank #19 among HBCUs, highlighting the strength of Atlanta's diverse educational institutions. 🔸 Clayton State University ranked #86 among regional universities in the South, contributing to Metro Atlanta's strong academic landscape. 🔸 The University of Georgia moved up one spot to #46, continuing to solidify its place among the nation’s top public universities. 🔸 Georgia College & State University ranked #15 among regional universities in the South, showing the power of public liberal arts education in the state. Excited that my paper "The future of higher education and the claim of globalisation: revisioning the past, re-imagining the future" has just been published in Globalisation, Societies and Education. The paper discusses how a particular globalist imaginary has taken hold of how we think about higher education, including how its history is being reconstructed in historical-sociological narratives that posit a transition from a nation-state centred to a globally oriented university. This globalist imaginary configures discourses on higher education futures and simultaneously reconstructs the history of higher education in terms of a process of global isomorphism. In this paper, we discuss several misconceptions related to this globalist historiography and argue for a more nuanced understanding of the past of higher education, which reflects the multifaceted nature of higher education’s history and paves the way for higher education futures that are different from the ones proposed under the banner of globalisation. https://lnkd.in/d2Eg9Zsf

University of Michigan ranks #4 in the nation in total research and development (R&D) expenditures in Fiscal Year 2023, according to the latest Higher Education Research and Development (HERD) Survey released today by the National Science Foundation (NSF).
