You know what? I get it. I understand the trepidation, the fear, the reluctance. I also get that we are on the ground floor of an absolute revolution in the golf space right now with FlingGolf by New Swarm. Allow me to give you some reasons why you as a golf course owner, golfer, or literally anyone else should give this sport a look. 1.) It's extremely easy. (Most people I know have an extraordinarily hard time hitting a golf ball in the first place.) 2.) It's inexpensive. (Most modern drivers will run you $400-$650 USD. A Launch from New Swarm will run you $129.99, and you only need one instead of 13 OTHER clubs to go with it. 3.) For my course operators, you get more foot traffic. (Let's be real, 90 percent of people will NEVER step foot onto a golf course EVER. This is a way to get more people onto the course and having a great time if you rent FlingSticks out at the course.) 4.) Accessibility. (This is a big one. Hitting a golf ball requires a LOT of coordination. Anyone can throw something. Referring back to #1, this game is EASY to learn. If you have someone in your family with injuries, developmental difficulties, or someone that just doesn't like the game of golf for whatever reason, this game equalizes that.) 5.) Freshness. (The other big one. Traditional golf can come off as snooty and just plain dated to some people. This is a new way to navigate the course that anyone can learn with enough reps. You'll learn concepts of traditional golf but from another perspective, and who knows, maybe you'll find ways to augment and improve your traditional golf game by playing FlingGolf like I did. If you're interested in grabbing a FlingStick of your own, head to flinggolf.com and use code GCALLIS10 for 10 percent off your purchase. Let em know I sent you. And if you're looking to collaborate on projects involving this or looking to try it out for yourself, send an email to flinggolfrva@gmail.com

Well, this isn't the post we thought we would be making this morning... We were full of excitement yesterday driving to Blenheim Palace for the long-awaited Game Fair yesterday, and ready to put up the stand and start getting ready to welcome visitors… Sadly, the wind was soon taken out of our sails because when we arrived, we were told there had been a mix-up with the size and location of our stand. We had booked way back in December, but there was another company’s stand already set up in our spot! We spent the next 5.5 hours communicating with the organisers (who we were told had other similar cases of missing stand slots and a rather large backlog at the gate to deal with) but were told that repositioning wasn’t available. There was seemingly nowhere else they could put us. Kyle and I tried to come up with a solution, for example turning the marquee so it was narrow and long and might squeeze in somewhere, but this presented some issues with the racing sim being potentially unsafe… The other businesses exhibiting in our row were amazing and very supportive, at one point trying to move their stands to accommodate us, but it wasn’t to be. So, by the evening and after a long day either driving or sitting stationary in the van, we were en route home with an empty weekend stretching ahead to fill. We’ve removed the social posts we’d scheduled and contacted everyone who wanted to meet this weekend to chat about websites and tech. We hope to be there next year - maybe with a bigger stand to make up for the wasted days of prep?! #onwardsandupwards #changeofplans

LATEST NEWS The summer season begins… ‘We now go into the five month summer season. During this period my concentration is on the higher quality flat racing along with the summer jumps. At this very early stage the flat is just developing. So far we have had only a handful of better class meetings to provide pointers for future use. This week there is an informative trials card at Ascot on Wednesday and the Newmarket Guineas meeting from Friday to Sunday. In the following weeks there are high profile three day meetings from both Chester and York. The overall picture will begin to establish some clarity. The summer jumps picture is interesting. Just recently we have seen the ground begin to firm up with entries rapidly increasing as the faster ground horses at long last get more suited conditions. Indications are that connections will be keeping a number of the faster ground types in training as we go into the summer which should bolster the overall jumps programme. The week ahead provides us with the five day Punchestown Festival starting on Tuesday. Plus there is a Hunter Chase card at Cheltenham on Friday which will be of interest and jumps action from Hexham and Uttoxeter on Saturday. There are forty-nine summer jumps fixtures scheduled in May. After a cold April temperatures are forecast to rise this week. Plenty of rain around early in the week becoming drier as we approach the weekend. I have a number of meetings arranged with various connections over the next couple of weeks as part of my plans for the summer season.’ MEMBERSHIP & INFORMATION: https://lnkd.in/eY8ECm9w
