Data Observability wasn't a wide-spread pain-point even 7-8 years back in the industry. However the burgeoning data volumes esp. those being ingested from systems that that are loosely tied to each other and the so-called self-serve ecosystems have turned this into a real problem statement to be addressed. #dataengineering

Data trials are breaking our workflow. The Neudata report that recently came out mentioned that most funds only end up subscribing to 𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝟮𝟱% 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹. That hit close to home. In an industry where data is our competitive edge, we're burning cycles on trials that go nowhere. Think about the opportunity cost — hours of testing, compliance checks, integration work... The report further goes into why this is such a common problem and offers some useful perspectives. From this report, one thing is clear → data testing processes must be streamlined and more impactful, making sure that valuable datasets are identified quickly without wasting time and resources on those that fall short. This is something we’ve spent a lot of time thinking about. With the Quanted system you can pinpoint datasets that are statistically relevant to your models within 30 minutes → saving time and eliminating unnecessary trial-and-error, error & more error; all without requiring trial agreements with data vendors and without involving your compliance team. So instead of testing datasets individually, which can take months, our system evaluates all available vendor datasets simultaneously using your model's historical performance. This allows you to quickly pinpoint the most promising data for your models, while also helping you avoid the common bottlenecks, sunk costs, and missed opportunities that often arise from traditional data trials.
