🔒 Seniors & Cyber Scams: Protecting Our Loved Ones in a Digital World 🔒 As we near the end of Cybersecurity Awareness Month, it’s the perfect time to spotlight an often overlooked group affected by cyber threats: our seniors. Every day, older adults, whether they’re our parents, grandparents, or other loved ones, are targeted by sophisticated scams designed to exploit trust and vulnerability. From phishing and tech support scams to “grandparent” emergencies, these scams have a real and lasting impact on their lives and well-being. #ThrowbackThursday to 1988 Let's look back at one of the first major internet worms, the Morris Worm, which shook the digital world and forever changed cybersecurity. Created by Robert Tappan Morris, this worm unintentionally wreaked havoc, infecting around 6,000 computers and causing systems to crash. This event highlighted the vulnerabilities in networked systems and led to significant advancements in cybersecurity practices. The incident also resulted in the establishment of the Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) to tackle future cybersecurity threats. The Morris Worm serves as a crucial reminder of the importance of robust cybersecurity measures and the ongoing battle against cyber threats.
