It's only November 4, and I've already been asked this popular question. Should I continue my job search in December? The answer: a resounding "yes"! Indeed, job postings are not as plentiful in the winter months approaching the holiday season, and the job market will seem quieter. But does the job market shut down for the holidays? No! This means your job search shouldn't shut down either. So make November as productive a month as possible! There are many things you can do in these cooler days to keep your job search moving forward. ☃️ Research potential companies of interest and reach out to 1st or 2nd-degree contacts who work there (or used to). What will you ask them? You always want a full lead funnel (in other words, potential connections)! ☃️ Review your resume - especially if you've been applying for jobs and received no (or very few) interview invites. What changes can you make to get you seen more and showcase your fit for the job? ☃️ Reach out - ask for feedback from the last interviews you participated in. What feedback can they provide that will help you be a stronger candidate for a similar role in the future? ☃️ Refresh your LinkedIn profile - especially the headline, "about" section and achievements in the work history section. What career story does your profile tell - and does it align with the jobs you are targetting? ☃️ Reward yourself for your persistent job search efforts by taking extra time for yourself - to relax, to spend time with family, to do things you enjoy. What can you do each day to feed your soul that has nothing to do with your job search? What would you add to this list? You can still enjoy activities leading into year-end and keep your job search active simultaneously. Keep the momentum building- which is hard to do when you slam on the brakes. ________________________ I'm Michelle. I can help you find work that energizes you for a company that believes what you believe in. I've had to do this myself - several times! I second your take on keeping job search on during Nov/Dec Michelle Schafer Last December, I had 2 executive clients secured jobs, scheduling multiple interviews. You can slow down, but keep moving. Companies are hiring in December. There may be less competition for you.
