𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗽𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸? Mass photometry is a novel bioanalytical technology that measures molecular mass by quantifying light scattering from individual biomolecules in solution. This approach opens up new possibilities for bioanalytics and research into the functions of biomolecules. Some 𝗸𝗲𝘆 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 include: - accurately mass measure a single molecule in solution, in its native state without the need for labels - optimize sample and buffer conditions before moving to more complex technologies - measure the assembly and disassembly of multicomponent complexes If you're interested in learning more about this exciting technology, check out this article that explains how mass photometry works: https://lnkd.in/eJH6AV87. #MassPhotometry #Bioanalytics #Research #Biomolecules

Excited to share my latest research on the dynamic behavior of the tautomerase superfamily (TSF)! Just published in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences: "Conformational Flexibility of the C-Terminal Region Influences Distal Active Site Residues Across the Tautomerase Superfamily". In this study, we used molecular dynamics simulations to investigate how the C-terminal region of these proteins influences their function. We found that the C-terminal region of bacterial TSF proteins is highly flexible and that this flexibility may be key to their diverse roles. We also found that the C-terminal communicates with distant parts of the protein, including the active site, suggesting a role in regulating enzymatic activity. Recommendations for performing, interpreting and reporting hydrogen deuterium exchange mass spectrometry (HDX-MS) experiments. Hydrogen deuterium exchange mass spectrometry (HDX-MS) is a powerful biophysical technique being increasingly applied to a wide variety of problems. As the HDX-MS community continues to grow, adoption of best practices in data collection, analysis, presentation and interpretation will greatly enhance the accessibility of this technique to nonspecialists. https://hubs.ly/Q02sp2ZV0
