Eldercare-Senior Care Sales Solutions Academy-Marketing, Business Development, Sales Training, Coaching and Accountability-Offering Entrepreneurial Opportunity-Veteran
Just boarded flight back to San Diego. As I entered the plane there sat an Elder Veteran. He had his hat on. I said quietly, “thank you for your service.” He quietly said back, “thank you.” The line to seat was at a stand still so I remained in front of him. He looked at me and said, “Thank you. We really do appreciate it. It wasn’t like that when we came home.” Folks, I don’t care if it feels goofy or not…please be sure to express your gratitude to our Nation’s Veterans…especially our Elder Veterans. Clearly the one today experienced Vietnam. It doesn’t have to be a big deal. Just a simple quietly spoken thank you. We owe it to them.

Veteran’s Day – Branko Terzic https://lnkd.in/ehwG4VW7 The purpose of Veterans Day is to honor all who served in the military whether during time of war or peace. The holiday originated as Armistice Day in 1919 to commemorate the armistice signed on November 11, 1918, which ended World War I. Over 4.7 million American soldiers served in the “Great War” most of whom returned home at the end of the conflict with first hand experience of the terror and devastation of war. The U.S. experience in World War I led to great reluctance to once again send Americans to fight “Europe’s War” twenty years later when Nazi Germany invaded its neighbors in Europe and threatened England. The formation of the America First Committee later led by aviator Charles Lindbergh was a manifestation of the sentiment. However, the attack on Pearl Harbor by the Japanese and subsequent declarations of war against the United States by Japan’s ally Germany reversed public opinion. The U.S. entered World War II reluctantly but fully committed to victory. This time 16 million Americans served in our Armed Forces. In 1954, the name was changed from Armistice Day to Veterans Day to honor all veterans including those of World War II and the Korean War. Few Korean War veterans are alive today and fewer still veterans of World War II. Later veterans who served in Vietnam and more recently those who served in Iraq and Afghanistan were added to the honor roll. Veterans Day also includes those of us who served in peacetime and reserves, trained and ready to be called upon by our nation if needed. Today we should be reminded that all of those wars produced veterans wounded physically and scarred mentally by the terrors of combat. In that regard we should support government and private charity activities aimed at meeting the needs of our wounded veterans and their families. That support would make meaningful your observation of this Veterans Day 2024. #BrankoTerzic #regulations #remember #veteransday #veterans #veteran #military #army #usa #veteransupport #navy #airforce #thankyou #america #usnavy #marines #soldier #happyveteransday #thankyouforyourservice #usarmy #supportourveterans #freedom #freedom #redwhiteandblue #patriotic #grateful #honor

🇺🇸 To our Veterans, Sound Advice Counseling thanks you for your service. Your bravery and commitment mean so much to our country. We honor you on this special day. Here are some key facts about Veterans Day that highlight its history, significance, and traditions: 1. Origins of Veterans Day Veterans Day originated as Armistice Day on November 11, 1919, to mark the end of World War I, which concluded on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918. This was the moment when the armistice (ceasefire) was signed, ending the fighting. 2. Name Change In 1954, after World War II and the Korean War, the U.S. government changed Armistice Day to Veterans Day to honor all U.S. veterans, not just those who served in World War I. 3. The Changing of the Date In 1968, the U.S. government passed the Uniform Monday Holiday Act, which moved Veterans Day to the fourth Monday in October. However, due to widespread public protest and confusion, President Gerald Ford signed a law in 1975 to return Veterans Day to November 11, where it remains today. 4. National Ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery Each year, a national ceremony is held at the Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia, where the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is located. The ceremony includes a wreath-laying by the President of the United States, and members of the military and government participate in the tribute. 5. The Significance of November 11 The reason Veterans Day is held on November 11 is to honor the historical armistice that ended World War I. The date is a symbol of peace and an opportunity to reflect on the sacrifices made by military personnel. 6. Symbols of Veterans Day The American flag is prominently displayed, as well as poppies, which are a symbol of remembrance, especially in countries like the U.K. The VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) and American Legion also play a role in honoring veterans across the country. These facts provide a deeper understanding of what Veterans Day means and why it’s an important day of national remembrance and appreciation. #veteransday #thankyouforyourservice #honoringourveterans #veteransday2024 #soundadvicecounseling Camille M.
