AERO Vodochody AEROSPACE a.s. recently handed over the first six L-39NG jets to its first customer, the Vietnamese Air Force. This month it also announced the first aircraft was also set to be delivered to LOM PRAHA, a domestic company that trains pilots for the Czech Air Force. But now Aero is now focusing on the African continent, and is exhibiting the L-39NG at the newly inaugurated Egypt International Airshow. Viktor Sotona, chairman and president of Aero Vodochody Aerospace said: “We are returning to the African continent, where Aero has a great tradition, because we believe the L-39NG has huge potential here. The Bahrain International Airshow 2024 is set to boost Bahrain’s status in the global aerospace industry, promoting economic growth and industry partnerships. Under the patronage of King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, this biennial event will take place from November 13 to 15 at Sakhir Air Base and will be attended by Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa and key industry leaders. The airshow will cover essential topics such as sustainability in aviation, technological innovations, and workforce challenges. With participation from civil and military aviation manufacturers, as well as representatives from various sectors, BIAS 2024 aims to facilitate global collaboration. Featuring a 14,000-square-meter exhibition hall, 40 luxury chalets, and an 86,000-square-meter static aircraft display area, the event will showcase major exhibitors, including Lockheed Martin and Rolls-Royce. Bahrain has reinforced its position in aerospace through strategic investments, reflected in a 4.9% GDP growth in 2023. The long-awaited J-35A stealth fighter made its debut at the opening ceremony with a five-minute aerial demonstration, drawing international attention. As per a report from Xinhua News Agency, the J-35A is a medium-sized multi-role stealth fighter capable of both air superiority and strike missions against ground and maritime targets.
