I made a comment to my eldest today when he was complaining to embrace the Suck which got us into a conversation about what it means. 🚨Collision industry leaders read this! When I was recruiting for the Military, each branch—Army, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Navy—was vying for the same 1% of students. The competition was fierce and relentless. Instead of viewing other branches as rivals, I took a different approach. I partnered with our biggest competitor, the Marine Corps, to expand that 1% into 5% by collectively enhancing the overall image of the military. This strategy worked exceptionally well. By combining our efforts, we engaged future soldiers and Marines, and leveraged our social media platforms to host joint events that generated more interest in the military. One notable event was a joint service suicide awareness campaign that involved the entire community. We also conducted joint training sessions with our enlisted members, capturing and sharing the fun on social media. This collaboration widened our recruitment pool, leading to greater success for both branches. The collision industry can adopt a similar strategy. By collaborating, we can elevate the perception of the industry, making it more appealing and increasing the quality of our talent pool. Coming together is the key. We can compete on talent later. A statement from our new CEO and National Commander: Gurpartap "GP" Sandhoo: Thank you all for the words of support and encouragement, this is a volunteer position for me, and our near-term focus is to raise funds, to get the Space Force Cadet Corps established across the nation. Based on the questions, wanted to clarify that Space Force Junior ROTC (HQ AFJROTC) and the Space Force Cadet Corps (SFCC) are both youth programs sponsored by the United States Space Force and the Space Force Association, respectively, with similar mission focuses, but they have some key differences. The primary mission of both organizations is to prepare American youth for space and cyber careers, including careers in the United States Space Force as Guardians, developing expertise and acquiring knowledge for space domain warfighting, and providing capable and ready youth to secure our nation’s interests in, from, and to space. Space Force Junior ROTC (HQ AFJROTC) units are based in high schools and are led by retired officers and enlisted personnel, along with civilian instructors. Space Force Cadet Corps units are organized independently of schools and are led by adult volunteers who are often former military personnel or civilians with space experience.
