The final XJ220 constructed, initially retained in Jaguar’s private collection in the UK. Treated to an $81,000 refresh and mechanical overhaul by Canepa of Scotts Valley, California; displays just 3,769 km (~2,342 miles) at cataloguing. Superbly maintained and exceptionally well-documented, chassis 617, the last XJ220 ever constructed, is the proverbial final page in one of Jaguar’s most illustrious chapters and offers the chance to acquire one of the world’s most impressive, and elusive, supercars. In closing his column, Green looked to the future, writing: “Other intriguing supercars are on the horizon, namely the Bugatti EB110 and McLaren F1, but these are different sorts of cars—technological statements from tiny specialists, rather than 200mph sculptures from the car industry big names… Besides, none will have the cachet of a Jaguar.” Much has changed in the three-plus decades that have followed, but in many ways, Green’s words ring just as true today. The sale will take place 31 May–1 June 2024 in the collection’s home, a 17,000 square foot exhibition space in the heart of Toronto. 𝗠𝗜𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗜𝗠𝗣𝗢𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗕𝗟𝗘? 𝗪𝗜𝗟𝗟 𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗦𝗖𝗛𝗘 𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗨𝗙𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗟𝗗’𝗦 𝗙𝗔𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗦𝗧 𝗖𝗔𝗥 𝗜𝗡 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰? 𝗪𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝗼𝗽𝗲𝘀 𝘂𝗽, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗿𝘂𝗺𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗫 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗮𝗿 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰. 🏎 If they decide to bring the Mission X to market, they want it to be the fastest road-legal vehicle around the infamous Nürburgring Nordschleife. According to Porsche, the aesthetic of this two-seater, all-electric hypercar nods to iconic Porsche supercars of the past like the 959 Carrera GGT the 918 Spyder and even the legendary Le Mans-winning 917k. But like any concept car, it’s packed haunch-to-haunch with state-of-the-art technology making it a true glimpse into the luxury brand’s future capabilities. There are so many notable design points for the Mission X that we would love to see roll off the factory line before the year is out (Le-Mans-style doors that open forwards and upwards, and a glass dome cockpit and roof to name a few!) but of course, we’re going to focus on the lighting: ⬇ 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀: Inspiration comes from the 906 and the 908 race cars, being drawn down into the road. 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀: The lights across the back appear to float in the air. 𝗟𝗼𝗴𝗼 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴: The ‘e’ on the Porsche logo pulsates when the car is charging. Like the rest of the automotive industry, innovation on this scale is what gets us all out of bed in the morning, so we eagerly await further news on whether this future supercar icon will make the production line in 2024. #missionX #Porsche #supercar #conceptcar #luxurybrand #futurecapabilites #automotiveindustry #innovation

1967 Jaguar 3.4S, the "original" S-Type. Much like its stable-mate, the 1969 MGC, the S-type saw limited production during the tumultuous late sixties when Jaguar, Rover, Triumph, MG, Austin Healey and others were being pushed through the sausage factory known as British Motor Corp, British Motor Holding, and then British Leyland. This resulted in models accused of dated styling directly inherited from predecessors, and "parts-bin" engineering. The S-type styling is a derivative of the Mark II with an elongated boot derived from the Mark X with the front extended to balance the rear. The S-Type uses a rear drive and suspension derived from the E-Type supporting the "parts-bin" claim. This model was seen as a stop-gap while the XJ6 series was being brought to market, and consequently the S-Type was not the primary focus. Fifty seven years on these claims still have merit, but those fifty seven years offer some perspective on what constitutes dated styling, and for me, the S-Type is a refreshing update to the Mark II with those taxi-cab bumpers replaced with E-Type styling, retention of the Mark II front end, and the rear becoming sleeker, more aerodynamic. Apologies to all Mark I and Mark II aficionados this may offend.

1991 Isdera Imperator 108i Highlights Offered from a prominent private collection with low indicated mileage 3,493 kilometers (2,170 miles) at cataloging One of only 30 examples built; among the rarest supercars of its era Striking wedge-shaped design and Gullwing-style doors. Among the final examples of the 13 first series cars The only left-hand drive UK-market example delivered Powered by 5.0-liter Mercedes-Benz V8 Chassis No. W09108215JWJ02017 The annals of automotive history are full of countless visionaries — designers, engineers, and businessmen with daring, enterprising visions to strike out on their own and realize their own dreams of automotive glory. One need only think of modern-day luminaries such as Horacio Pagani or Christian von Koenigsegg to acknowledge the great feats of performance carried out by comparatively small start-up companies with a David-and-Goliath mentality. And while these visionaries are not uncommon, what is in fact quite rare is for the resulting car to be so competitive that it can take on the established supercars from Italian, Germany, and the United States. Such is the story of Isdera and its Imperator 108i, which in a contemporary road test at Road & Track in 1987 on Volkswagen's Ehra-Lessien test track stunned the testers by sparring with the Lamborghini Countach 5000 QV and Alois Ruf's now-legendary CTR Yellowbird. Its Mercedes-Benz-derived V8 propelled the car to 60 mph in only five seconds, onward to a top speed of 176 mph — an extraordinary top speed for its time! So, what exactly was this Imperator? The Isdera concern was founded in 1982 by the German entrepreneur Eberhard Schulz with an acronym that translated states “Engineering Company for Styling, Design, and Racing.” His path to success in the automotive industry is certainly among the most atypical, as he constructed a home-built sports car in the late 1960s, named the Erator GTE, powered by a variety of engines and with clear design cues from the GT40 and Gullwing-style doors necessitated by the use of spaceframe construction. By 1978, having teamed up with Rainer Buchmann of b&b, the duo unveiled the CW311 concept car, a modern interpretation of the 300 SL Coupe and the forebearer of the car we see here today. While the car was powered by a Mercedes-Benz V8 and even had the company's blessing to wear the legendary three-pointed star, mass production was not forthcoming and so, Schulz, unfettered as always, ultimately struck out on his own, effectively forming Isdera with that express purpose in mind.
