🇺🇸 Super Hornets for USAF 🇺🇸 This jet is being sustained by the USN for another 20 years (easily). The USAF needs to leverage the strength and mutual investment in this production line and pledge to buy Super Hornets through 2035. Adding robust EW capabilities is the same strategy F-15EX is using, and I’m all for it. F-16 has done the same with IVIEWS. 4th Gen mass with efficient 5th Gen force packaging is the way. MORE HAMMERS, MORE NAILS. Super Hornet with Legion 2.0 and ADVEW and SM-6? Yes please. Nothing “low observable” is safe. Keep this production line open. Benefits: 1. Shared logistics (USN, USAF, CAN, AUS) 2. Shared basing options overseas 3. Resilient supply chain aided by USN’s ability to move globally Write your congressional leadership. Thoughts my own. Bravo - more of this!!! “The “Big 5” defense companies, while peerless in developing military platforms such as tanks, ships, and missiles, are not the nation’s leading innovators when it comes to sharing information across systems. The information revolution has instead occurred in the civilian sector, driven by companies outside the defense ecosystem who often perceive barriers to doing business with the Department of Defense.1 Therefore, PEO IWS is working across our portfolio to grow the weapon-system industrial base, drive competition, and connect the expertise of the traditional defense industry with the innovation and agility of commercial technology developers.” https://lnkd.in/eBkMWJXt

U.S. Prime Defense Contractors have accumulated Billion-Dollar Losses in fixed-price development and production contracts awarded by the government due to delay, cost over-runs, etc. The latest charges raise Lockheed’s historic losses to $1.4 billion on the classified program in Missiles & Fire Control (M&FC) business. All losses reported so far on the classified Aeronautics program now add up to $825 million. Boeing’s reach-forward losses on five such programs awarded since 2011 now total more than $18 billion. Last year, Northrop Grumman also posted a $1.56 billion charge on the fixed-price production phase of the B-21 Raider bomber program. What are the problems? “We’ve gone from today’s problem, to today’s problem, to today’s problem, and that’s because we’re not looking around the corner enough on these programs,” Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg said. ____________________________________________ https://lnkd.in/gsMJFD_p

Lockheed Martin Australia and Thales Australia have signed a Teaming Agreement to explore the opportunities to advance the development and production of Solid Rocket Motors (SRM) for the Australian market. The purpose of the agreement is to collaborate, qualify and produce Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System (GMLRS) Solid Rocket Motors and other components in support of the Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance (GWEO) Enterprise. The Teaming Agreement production effort will focus on jointly developed tasks to produce an Australian SRM System, as well as to explore supply chain options to establish Australian industrial capability for related components. The collaboration will assess the possibility of future potential design, development, production or co-production of sub-components of the GMLRS missiles, and potentially inform Commonwealth considerations in establishing a resilient GWEO Enterprise that is globally competitive and may include the domestic manufacture of SRMs ranging from simple rockets to large, complex strategic motors. #military #defense #defence #militaryleak https://lnkd.in/gRDtuwKS

👨✈️ Harnessing Military Test and Evaluation for Mission Success 👨✈️ When we think of Test and Evaluation (T&E) in the military, aerospace testing often comes to mind—aircraft systems, munitions, and avionics. But T&E goes far beyond that, touching every discipline, domain, and aspect of our integrated military forces. It’s the backbone of ensuring that our military capabilities are safe, reliable, and effective across all operational scenarios. T&E rigorously assesses new aircraft systems, advanced weapons technologies, and avionics functions in aerospace. Each component is subjected to a series of stringent tests designed to validate performance under extreme conditions—from high-speed manoeuvres to the harshest weather environments. These evaluations do more than just meet performance standards; they ensure our platforms' safety, resilience, and longevity in the field. But T&E’s role isn’t confined to the skies. It’s equally critical in other military domains. Whether we’re testing the endurance of armoured vehicles on rugged terrains, evaluating the robustness of communication systems in the face of electronic warfare, or conducting live-fire exercises to verify the reliability of our weapons systems, T&E is the key to ensuring our forces are prepared for any challenge. Our work in T&E demands a fusion of high-quality engineering, systems integration expertise, environmental science and software development. Coupled with a deep understanding of operational requirements and military standards, T&E is about pushing systems to their limits—and beyond. So, when our military needs them most, they don’t just perform; they excel. Want to learn more about our T&E capabilities?
