Mistakes to avoid while asking for referral. 1. Read the post line to line: People generally don't go through the post thoroughly, actually job id, role name and other details like location are mentioned. But many just through the resume 🙂 without mentioning the basic details. 2. Don't over explain: I see many write 2-3 pages in mail explaining education, GPA, projects, college fest participation and what not. Honestly nobody goes through that while referring, only the recruiter/manager looks at the resume and learns about you. 3. See the conditions in the post: Many companies want to keep gap between two consecutive referrals for the same person irrespective of the role, so please don't approach for the referral if that period is not over yet. And don't ask for the referral if you are already referred by someone else and inform the person that you got referred. Lot of times we face error due to duplicate referrals and trust me referring a candidate requires time. 4. Don't be lazy: "Please go through my resume and refer me for a suitable position", I mean seriously? is it that difficult to search <company_name> careers in Google and point the suitable job id? 5. Avoid posts asking to comment "I am interested" okay.,, thank you , no posing photo at the end

Hey folks, I've noticed a recurring trend with referral requests that I think we need to address. Many of the requests I receive seem to be based solely on the job title, without a thorough review of the job description. This can lead to a mismatch between your qualifications and the role, which isn’t ideal for anyone involved. 🔍 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 Job descriptions are there for a reason. They provide crucial insights into what the role entails and what the company is looking for. Skipping over these details can lead to missed opportunities and unnecessary disappointment. 📑 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐂𝐚𝐧 𝐃𝐨 Before you send out that referral request, take a few minutes to really dive into the job description. Check if your skills, experience, and career aspirations align with what’s being asked. This small step can make a huge difference in ensuring that the referral is a good fit for both you and the company. Let’s keep the momentum going and make each referral count!

One of the greatest banes of my #jobsearch experience is that #ATS systems periodically auto-repost to #LinkedIn for any role that hasn't been closed out. Most of my outreach to referral contacts in target companies is just asking if they can confirm that the hiring manager actually wants new #resumes in the pipeline, or if they're already close to choosing from a set of final candidates. I end up burning through my social capital with these contacts just to find out if jobs are truly available. My guess is that this is based in incentives for the customer (the recruiter). It is occasionally useful for them to have a well of new pipeline to fall back on if the final candidates from the first posting all fall through. And even if it's incredibly frustrating for applicants, they aren't the customer for the Product Manager who makes this decision. #Recruiters - am I right about the reasoning behind auto-reposting? And do you in fact find yourself frequently using the late-submittal pipeline? #Jobseekers - am I alone in this being a particularly frustrating part of the modern application process?

🎯 Why Posting a Job Description Isn't Enough in 2024 In today's talent market, simply listing a job description won't cut it. With job seekers becoming more selective and opportunities multiplying, you need to go beyond the bullet points. A well-crafted, candidate-driven job advertisement can make all the difference. 🚀Think of your job ad as a movie trailer—it’s not just about the role; it’s about the experience, the growth potential, and the impact a candidate can have. It’s your chance to connect with candidates on a deeper level, showcasing what makes your company special. 🌟Here’s the reality: 🔹 Job descriptions focus on requirements and tasks. 🔹 Job ads focus on the future—what candidates can achieve and experience with your team. This shift isn’t just nice-to-have; it’s essential for attracting the right talent who resonate with your mission. 💡 If you’re tired of sifting through endless applications that don’t quite fit, maybe it’s time to rethink your approach. Let's transform your job descriptions into ads that inspire. 🎥 #RecruitmentMarketing #Hiring2024 #TalentAcquisition #NextLevelHiring #PerformanceBasedHiring #JobAdvsJD

I recently asked 58 'open to work' executives who all had over 20 years of experience in banking what their biggest HURDLE was in the job search. Here is the #1 issue that most job seekers said they were struggling with: "I don't understand how to start generating traction on my cold applications." If you’re feeling the same way, here’s what I suggest to solve this problem: First, don’t just rely on LinkedIn Easy Apply. Instead: ➜ Go to the company’s website and submit your application directly there. ➜ Search on LinkedIn for 'Job Title AND Hiring'. Filter by 'Posts'. This will help you find out if anyone from the company has posted about hiring for that role. ➜ Connect and message them. Let them know you’re interested and have applied. A simple connection can have a massive impact. ➜ Comment on the hiring post. Mention that you’ve applied and sent them a message—this will further fuel your chances of getting noticed. ➜ If the job is posted by a recruiting agency, cold call them. Most agencies list phone numbers. Introduce yourself after applying. You could say: "Hey, sorry to call you out of the blue, but I saw that you're currently hiring for [Job X]. I've just applied and wanted to follow up on my application and learn more about the role as I’m really interested." In this market, it’s crucial to think outside the box and find creative ways to get noticed. Did you know about this function which allows you to filter out by 'posts' and find hiring managers and Recruiters for jobs on LinkedIn??? #Recruiting #JobSearch #JobApplications #CSG #GetHired

DID YOU ACTUALLY READ MY PROFILE?!?! If you're reaching out to experienced professionals for technical roles, please take a few minutes to read their profiles before sending that message. Nothing turns a candidate off faster than receiving irrelevant job offers or vague requests for referrals when it’s clear you didn’t even glance at their experience or skills. If someone has years of experience in a specialised field, they've built their network and likely know others who are qualified in similar roles. Asking them for a referral without genuinely considering if they’d be a fit themselves? That's just lazy and shows a lack of respect for their time and expertise. Let’s be real, good people do know good people. But if you’re reaching out to seasoned professionals, make sure your process respects their time: 🚫 Don't spam them with generic job descriptions that don’t match their expertise. 🚫 Don’t ask them for referrals to positions they’d be perfect for themselves. 🚫 Don’t waste their time with a long chain of irrelevant questions when a glance at their profile would answer most of them. In a competitive market for top talent, respect and relevance go a long way. Show that you value their experience by personalizing your approach and getting straight to the point. You’re far more likely to engage them positively, and, yes, to tap into that network of >>>> "good people who know good people." Let’s keep the hiring process meaningful and efficient. 🙌 #hiring #tech #softwareengineering #erp #techjobs

Important 🔔🔔 Here are some common mistakes people make when asking for referrals:🤐 Reason you will never get a response. 1 . Most of the folks have sent me just “𝐇𝐢” or “𝐇𝐢, 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮” or "Please refer me", I will not be able to respond to every message. 2. Did not mention your, 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐞 and 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞, 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐤 and 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬, 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞, 𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 and 𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐡. 4. Did not include a 𝐣𝐨𝐛 𝐢𝐝 or 𝐣𝐨𝐛 𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐤. This is the most important thing please fo share the job id along with the resume Please feel free to go to the career page and search for an appropriate job for you, if I have to tell you, your suitable job role then it means you have not done enough research. 5. some of you asked me for referrals without 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐞. 6. in some cases email was not present. Please share this with your connections, so that they don't repeat these mistakes 💻 , I know still people will not follow this lol
