🚀 Introducing The Long Game 🚀 I’m thrilled to officially launch The Long Game! When growth happens fast, company operations lag, and that misalignment costs real money. I saw this firsthand at DraftKings Inc., where I helped scale business operations as the company grew 10x in revenue and headcount—from a single-product, in-one-office team to a global, multi-product, public company. That experience inspired The Long Game’s playbook—designed to help you grow efficiently and stay agile. We partner experienced fractional talent with fast-growing companies to build scalable, flexible business operations that drive long-term success—without the cost or hassle of full-time hiring. Our focus areas: ✅ Strategic Planning & OKRs – Align teams and turn vision into action. ✅ Business Processes – Build processes & systems to scale. ✅ Special Projects – Lead new product launches, M&A, or other critical initiatives. We’re building a network of seasoned talent with a bias towards action, ready to jump in, adapt to fast-paced environments, and drive results. If your company is at an inflection point, or you’re a professional seeking flexible, impactful work, let’s connect! Thank you to everyone who has played a role in getting The Long Game to day 1. I’ve learned from every conversation and appreciated all your feedback and guidance. Visit longgametalent.com or reach out directly at chrissie@longgametalent.com. Let’s get started! 💥

Have you ever looked at a product or company that seemed to explode onto the scene and thought, “Wow, they must’ve gotten everything right from the start”? I think we’ve all had that moment. But here’s something I’ve learned along the way - most “overnight successes” have years of hard work, trial, and error behind them. Did you know? Rovio Entertainment launched 51 unsuccessful games before finding success with Angry Birds. Building something great is rarely quick or easy. There are countless moments of doubt, pivots that feel like starting over, and a hundred small wins that slowly add up. It’s not glamorous, but it’s real. The real magic is in the process. Each tweak, every bit of feedback, and even the setbacks are part of what makes the final product shine. The creators we admire didn’t skip these steps—they embraced them. So, if you’re feeling like progress is slow, know this that you’re not alone, and you’re not failing. You’re in the middle of your story. Keep going. The work you’re putting in today might just be the foundation for someone else’s “where did this come from?” moment tomorrow.

Remember when game studios had to ship hard drives across oceans just to share builds with external partners? The evolution of game development partnerships in the past 15 years has been remarkable - from those early "outsourcing = cost-cutting" days to today's sophisticated service ecosystems. It’s been a huge shift. In this month’s newsletter I’m diving deep into this transformation, exploring how our industry is beginning to adopt some of the service models of other more mature industries, and what this means for modern game studios. 👉 Link in comments - Subscribe to my Substack 🗞️

🚀 Excited to announce our $2M pre-seed round with A16Z GAMES SPEEDRUN, Boost VC, Y Combinator, and amazing angel investors! 🎉 “Before we have a million robots in the physical world, we will first see a billion embodied agents in virtual worlds. AI and Gaming are born for each other, and their happy marriage is just getting started.” - Jim Fan I could not agree more with this absolute banger of a quote. Game QA in particular represents the pinnacle of virtual agentic behavior while being one of the most broken parts of the gaming industry. Our mission is to change this. At nunu.ai, we're revolutionizing Game QA to provide broader testing coverage and faster iteration cycles for game studios. We want to thank our early believers , investors, and friends. Very much looking forward to spending the next 3 months in LA for A16Z GAMES SPEEDRUN with Troy Kirwin, Jonathan Lai, Andrew Chen, Jack Soslow and other legends! Our vision is to develop generally capable agents that can navigate and act in any given virtual 3D environment, starting with applications in gaming and moving towards general 3D simulations and robotics. This is just the beginning! 🚀

Scale brings advantages, but also disadvantages. I see a lot of game studios rush to scale. They think it will make things go faster, but because they don't have a concept they've aligned around and proven, it ends up slowing everything down. More people means more time spent aligning, more toes that can be stepped on, and more overhead - not to mention more money spent. Don't rush to scale. Figure out what you need to answer before you scale, and hold yourself accountable to it. As the old proverb says, "If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together." Early on in game dev, you need to go fast because you aren't yet sure where you're going. Later on, you'll get more people together and go far. Don't jump the gun, or you'll go nowhere slowly. #gameproduction #gamedevelopment #gameindustry #scale
