#AfricaRising Gilead Sciences rose 12% yesterday on the #greatnews that their #HIV prevention trial had a 100% success rate (zero infections)! This is a potential gamechanger, as it is a bi-annual injection (more effective and easier to use). Imagine the improvement in #humancapital if Africa managed to eradicate HIV? * The 9 countries with adult HIV prevalance of >10% are all in sub-Saharan Africa. *There are more than 200,000 avoidable deaths per annum. *Young women are particulary impacted as they are three times more likely to be infected than their male peers. #talent #Africanopportunity

🎗️ Day 1: World AIDS Day - Breaking Stigma, Spreading Hope 🌟 Had a busy day thought I will break this challenge before it even start 😂😂😂 but say what the chef 👨🍳 is done HIV/AIDS doesn't define someone's worth. Let's champion acceptance, understanding, and support for those living with HIV. Prevention starts with education, regular testing, and safe practices, but true change begins with how we treat each other. Together, we can create a world where no one faces discrimination because of their status. Every person deserves dignity, respect, and access to proper healthcare. Remember: U = U (Undetectable = Untransmittable) 💪 The death rate of HIV/AIDS patients has reduced over the year and it keeps on reducing. It’s not a Death sentence✌️✌️ Looking forward to Day 2! Stay tuned! 🎯 #OneDayOneDashboard #WorldAIDSDay #BreakTheStigma #HIV #DataForGood #Day1

PrEP has been available in Canada since 2016, but we haven't seen the #HIV prevention outcomes we need to end the HIV epidemic through this tool alone. Patrick O'Byrne and his co-researchers are looking into Active-Offer #PrEP paired with HIV self-testing from GetaKit.ca to see if we can increase PrEP uptake among at-risk populations. As Dr. O’Byrne puts it, “We [need to] reach out to help people instead of people always having to look for help themselves.” Learn more in today's Research Spotlight at https://lnkd.in/eRpFyu3c

What will it take to ensure that everyone benefits from new HIV prevention technologies from day one? As we approach the 2030 goals, we’re at a crossroads. Innovations like long-acting injectables and implants bring new hope, but the real challenge lies in making these solutions accessible and affordable for all—especially those most at risk. How can we strengthen health systems to scale up these innovations, and how do we ensure they reach the most vulnerable communities? The systems we have today may not be enough, but can we build the infrastructure, trust, and support needed to change the game? And perhaps the toughest question of all: How do we turn our good intentions into tangible action? If we are serious about ending HIV transmission by 2030, we need more than hope—we need bold, actionable change. The future isn’t something that happens—it’s something we create. Will we take the steps now to make that future a reality?
