For Advent this year I found myself reaching for wisdom from leaders and clergy that have faced trying times with grace and grit. Leaders like Mitri Raheb, bell hooks, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, and Grace Lee Boggs. I decided to use quotes from these leaders as my advent calendar. I'm offering a print out of what I gathered if you'd like to use them as writing prompts or in your own advent calendar. There are two ways that you can get a copy: 1) Make a donation to support the people of Palestine and use this document to share your receipt. Donations can be made to organizations or personal fundraisers. A donation of any amount qualifies. ( https://lnkd.in/gVyhafeD ) 2) Join my Patreon at any level ( patreon.com/Femminary ) May you find inspiration and guidance as we sit in darkness, and remember that darkness can either be a place of fear or fertility.

An update on our EOY goal, and an invitation. We're so grateful for the financial support that has been given towards our end-of-year goal so far! We experience so much joy as we consider how God will use each dollar to support His children. Thank you!! Your year-end financial support is crucial for Be Broken to continue to help those who seek grace-based support. But why Be Broken? "We live in such a performance oriented world that, even if we have an intellectual understanding of grace, we need tangible reminders and fresh experiences of Christ's love and affection for us, no matter where we are in the journey. I've seen that approach keep guys engaged that would have otherwise walked away in discouragement, myself included. I think Be Broken excels in that area." ~John Many of you have received support through the Be Broken over the last 20+ years. Will you help make that help available for others in 2025? We invite you to give toward the end-of-year goal of $118,000. Donate today: https://zurl.co/HJ1b or 🔗 in bio. #BeBrokenMinistries #endofyeargiving #givingtuesday #donatestock #wholeandholy #transformationpathway #makeadifference #healgrowshare

Together we can make a difference: 🌹 "The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others." - Mahatma Gandhi 🌹"We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give." - Winston Churchill 🌹"The smallest act of kindness is worth more than the grandest intention." - Oscar Wilde 🌹"Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth." - Muhammad Ali 🌹 "When we give cheerfully and accept gratefully, everyone is blessed." - Maya Angelou And here's an encouragement note to donate to support the needy: "Every small act of kindness has the power to change a life. By donating to support the needy, you're not just giving money - you're giving hope, dignity, and a chance for a better tomorrow. Your generosity can provide food for the hungry, shelter for the homeless, and education for those who can't afford it. Your donation is a beacon of light in someone's darkest hour, a reminder that they're not alone, and that there are people who care. So please, give what you can, and trust that your kindness will ripple out and make a difference in ways you may never even know. Together, we can build a world where everyone has access to the basics they need to thrive. Let's spread love, kindness, and compassion - one donation at a time." The Peoples Hub is making a great difference. Happy Tuesday.

For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always. Mathew 26:11 We have countless opportunities to help those in need! Our world is imperfect, and poverty will always be a huge concern. We can actively help those in need by donating to local charities, participating in fundraising for missionary projects, and praying over the hearts of those who are hurting. Prayer is powerful, and we can change the world by calling on the name of the Lord. Dear Lord, we will watch over those in need. You have blessed each of us with skills and finances so we may provide care for those who are physically and spiritually unable to provide for themselves. In Jesus' Name, Amen. #spiritualityandspiritualsouls #brainexpansiongroup

Intervention Program Stories of Dignity Post "Hello, my name is Fernando, I am 14 years old. I am from a community in Cayambe, near the snowy Cayambe mountain. We are 6 siblings. Before we were all together with my mother Maria, but when she got sick with her heart, everything went wrong. I had to stop studying to help her. That's why some doctors started coming, they told us we needed support to be well. After that, my brother Andres, who was 1 year old, got sick. They told us my mother couldn't take care of us and they were going to take us away. But, I remember that a month ago the ladies from the Intervention Program of the FACE Foundation came to my house, talked to me & explained that we can continue together & that my mother would be fine. They told us with the help of our uncles we could continue being a family. Now that the Foundation is helping us, my mom can go to the hospital & we are cared for by my uncle Mateo. I can go back to school. The Intervention Program gave us school supplies & some shoes. Also, they are teaching us about the importance of hygiene to avoid getting sick. Thanks to their help I no longer feel sad, I am no longer afraid of being alone." Follow along for more stories of dignity and impact. Did you know that suicide is the 11th leading cause of death in the US? Last year alone, we lost 49,476 Americans to suicide, and there were an estimated 1.6 million attempts. These aren't just numbers—they represent real lives and devastated families. It's a heart-wrenching reality that touches more of us than we might realize. Chances are, someone close to you has been affected by suicide, whether they've struggled with suicidal thoughts, attempted to take their own life, or tragically lost their battle. Often, these struggles go unnoticed, hidden beneath the surface. We must come together to change this. Let's raise awareness, support those in need, and fight for better mental health resources. Every life is precious, and every action makes a difference. I'm walking this weekend to support a dear friend, and I invite you to join me. If you're local, please come and walk with us. If you can't make it, consider donating to support the cause. Together, we can make a real impact. #AFSPWalk #SuicidePrevention #MentalHealthAwareness #EndTheStigma #WalkForHope #TogetherForMentalHealth #SuicideAwareness #MentalHealthMatters #EndSuicide

Embracing Philanthropy and Service When asked about my passion projects and various aspects of my life, I always share my core belief: to share the love of Christ with others. I believe that serving others is a powerful way to live out our faith and make a positive impact in our community. Philanthropy and service are not just acts of kindness; they are expressions of Christ's love and compassion. Ways to Serve and Give Back: Volunteer Your Time: Dedicate a few hours each week to volunteer at local shelters, food banks, or community centers. Your time and presence can make a significant difference in the lives of others. Support Charitable Organizations: Donate to organizations that align with your values and mission. Every contribution, big or small, helps support important causes and initiatives. Acts of Kindness: Perform random acts of kindness in your daily life. Whether it's helping a neighbor, offering a listening ear, or providing a meal to someone in need, small gestures can have a profound impact. Community Projects: Get involved in community projects that aim to improve the lives of those around you. Participate in clean-up drives, build homes for the less fortunate, or organize events that bring people together. Prayer and Encouragement: Offer prayers and words of encouragement to those who are struggling. Sometimes, a kind word or a heartfelt prayer can provide the strength and hope someone needs. "Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms." - 1 Peter 4:10 Let's come together as a community to serve and uplift one another, reflecting Christ's love in all that we do. Share your experiences and ideas for giving back using #PhilanthropyAndService. #FaithInAction #CommunitySupport #ServeOthers #1Peter410 #AngelaSnead

James 1:27 shows us true religion in God's eyes. Instead of doing rituals and sacrifices to show our beliefs and how "spiritual" we are, we should instead do as Jesus did and care for the widows and orphans to show the pure heart of God. As the light in darkness and disparity we are doing just that. We must not let the world influence and discourage us. Would you consider supporting us financially at https://lnkd.in/dJDBC4Xx where our vision to rethink how orphanages and shelters are designed and managed to be more accessible and sustainable all on a much larger scale thus allowing for more effective means of caring and treatment of the most vulnerable in society. All donations are tax deductible. #thegoodshepherdshouse #nonprofitorganization #nonprofit
