Alignment of moving parts is one of the hidden factors that significantly impacts the longevity of equipment. Even with precise machining, some misalignment is inevitable, creating additional forces on the components—often exceeding acceptable limits. These subtle forces gradually wear down the equipment, drastically shortening its lifespan. For the machine shown in the picture, we use a special piston coupling that compensates for misalignment, ensuring the piston rod is only subjected to axial loads. We add something extra to the probes. The video below shows an example of a measuring macro, tailored to the customer's specifications. After heat treatment, the subsequent machining must be within a tolerance of +/- 0.02 mm with respect to the previously machined notch in the gearing. That is where are probes come into play: In a few seconds, the tooth gap is located, its centre measured in the C axis, the C position of the tooth calculated and the two-point measurement of the tooth flank in the Z axis, with entry in the zero-point table. #blumnovotest #measuringcomponents #machining #manufacturing #touchprobe #madeingermany #focusonproductivity
