What comes natural to us, is future thinking, worrying about the next minute/task to complete or replaying past situations. When we aren’t living mindfully, or in the moment, it’s difficult to connect with people, maintain or build relationships and find optimal levels of joy. 😊Right?! When I’m wondering/worrying/thinking about what I’m going to make for dinner, am I really present with my spouse who’s trying to tell me about his day? Mornings set the tone for the day, so I try to be intentional about starting with mindfulness. Before reaching for my phone, I take a few deep breaths to center myself and reflect on one thing I’m grateful for. Even just a few moments of calm help me feel more focused and ready to take on whatever comes next. It’s a small habit, but it makes a big difference in how I approach my day.
