When we practice mindfulness, we start to notice the cues and rewards that trigger our habitual behaviors. This awareness is key to making changes. By understanding the motivations behind our actions—whether it's the pleasure we get right away or the relief from discomfort—we can start making deliberate choices instead of just reacting out of habit. This shift from automatic to intentional actions can lead to positive changes in both our personal and professional lives.

When we practice mindfulness, we are practicing the art of creating space for ourselves—space to think, space to breathe, space between ourselves and our reactions. This concept beautifully relates to The Hanged Man in Tarot. The Hanged Man represents a pause, surrender, and a shift in perspective. Just as mindfulness encourages creating space to reflect and respond instead of reacting, The Hanged Man invites us to let go of control, take a step back, and find clarity in stillness. Both teach us that through this intentional pause, we can gain new insights and a deeper understanding of ourselves and the world around us.

It’s about noticing those distractions, welcoming them into our awareness, and allowing them to be part of the experience without judgment. That random thought, the sound of traffic, or even a fleeting emotion. These are all opportunities to practice gentle awareness. 💚 Instead of resisting them, we can include them in our mindfulness practice, finding presence even in the midst of chaos.
