It was my pleasure to moderate an insightful panel discussion at the #SETPlan conference in Budapest, on 'Fostering Sustainability in Onshore wind and offshore renewables: Insights on Recyclability, Circularity, and Innovation'.
I had the pleasure of moderating a distinguished panel of experts, comprising of John Korsgaard, Alexander Vandenberghe, Sandra Pfeiffer, and Lotta Pirttimaa, as we delved into key areas of recyclability, circularity, and innovative solutions for the wind and ocean industries.
The discussion shed light on the importance of policy and regulation in driving sustainable practices, the need for a clear waste management framework, and the role of R&D investment in safeguarding innovation excellence.
A key takeaway was the alignment required among policymakers, operators, and manufacturers to drive sustainability in the wind and ocean energy industry. We also explored opportunities for collaboration between the wind and ocean energy industries to promote sustainability and circularity. SET Plan has a critical role to play in supporting this direction, and I'm excited to see the progress we can make together.
A huge thanks to my colleagues Drilona Shtjefni, Teodor Kuzov and Catriona Black for their guidance and help in organizing the session.
