📰 New Research in Mineral Exploration! 🌍 I'm thrilled to announce the publication of my latest paper, "Adopting a cell-based method to identify mineralized geological structures in support of mineral prospectivity mapping at the Kuh‒Lakht epithermal gold deposit, Central Iran." 💡 If you are interested in learning how to objectively weight geological features and incorporate them into mineral prospectivity mapping (MPM) workflows, I invite you to read my recent paper. 🔍 In this contribution, we propose a cell-based technique in MPM to efficiently address the exploration bias in decision-making processes by assigning relevant weights to the key geological features facilitating gold mineralization. The findings provide valuable geological insights, enabling us to objectively assess the importance of various geological features in gold mineralization. Thus, the proposed technique can address the uncertainties arising from subjectively incorporating geological features in the MPM workflow and those arising from insufficient input data in MPM studies. 🔍 The allegiance of knowledge-driven and/or supervised MPM workflows to training locations may impose uncertainties on the final predictive map. By involving evidence layers rather than training samples, our proposed technique can efficiently deal with model-related uncertainty, which is a practical challenge when defining training locations. 🌐 Access the full paper now, and let's spark meaningful discussions that drive our industry forward. 🔗 DOI link: https://lnkd.in/eYgEaTWV 🔗 My researchgate profile: https://lnkd.in/eGGdRx7X 🤝 I welcome you to reach out for conversations about the research findings and to explore the future of mineral exploration together. #mineral_prospectivity_mapping #exploration #ore_geology_reviews #gis #gold #mineralization #MPM #uncertainties #prospectivity #epithermal #gold_deposit #miningexploration #mining #drilling #minerals #geochemical #geochemistery #geologicalstructures #mineralogy #goldmining

𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐋𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐮𝐦 𝐎𝐫𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 The complexity in prospecting for lithium ore lies in the prior identification of pegmatite formations, as the ore is not always exposed, and even in deep locations, lithium formation may appear homogeneous, heterogeneous, or even disseminated. A meticulous approach is essential to avoid misinterpretations of occurrences. Therefore, it is crucial to observe not only the dissemination of lithium but also all geological features that may indicate the presence of the ore in question. Thoroughness in prospecting is fundamental, as it provides a more comprehensive understanding of geological formations. Furthermore, it is necessary to determine the number of sa mples to be collected to avoid underestimating or overestimating the potential reserve. Additionally, identifying other associated ores is necessary to add value or minimize exploration costs (ore X ore = minimized operational costs). The perspective of a mineral reserve prospector should go beyond academic qualifications; having market insight is essential. Acquiring knowledge of processing routes is vital, and understanding mineral associations is invaluable. #tantalum #niobium #geologia #mining #geology #coltan #capacitors #Brazil #supplychain #mineração #criticalminerals #lithium #batteries

NEW REPORT BOOK & DATA PACKAGE RELEASED This week the #GSSA released a new report book: “Sediment-hosted copper deposits of the Mount Gunson district” as part of our series of projects using geochemistry to assess the untapped critical minerals potential of South Australia’s deposits. ⛏️ The Mount Gunson district hosts several sediment-hosted copper deposits within Neoproterozoic sediments of the Stuart Shelf and the underlying Mesoproterozoic Pandurra Formation including Windabout, Mg14, Cattlegrid, Mount Gunson, Gun, Gully, and House. 🔍 Following extensive geochemical review, 167 samples were collected from 21 historic drillholes focusing on the mineralised zone and analysed for a full range of geochemical elements. 📋 The report revealed high values of cobalt, bismuth, molybdenum, silver, zinc, lead, manganese and arsenic in addition to copper in the Mount Gunson district. The critical minerals cobalt and bismuth were found to be hosted by carrollite and emplectite, respectively. Download the full report and data package: https://ow.ly/X8v350SqAnB Read more about the Critical Minerals SA Project that this report is part of: https://ow.ly/Ew0s50SqAnA #CriticalMinerals #Geoscience #Geology #CMSA #Mining #MineralExploration #MountGunson #Copper #Cobalt #Bismuth #Molybdenum #Zinc

Fault Growth and Their Implications on Ores Mineralization ➡️Hierarchical Fault Zones: Primary and Secondary Elements 📌 Primary Faults: Also known as main or backbone faults. Larger structures that accommodate the majority of displacement. Typically experience higher mean stresses. Not always the most favorable sites for fluid entrapment due to high fluid pressure. 📌 Secondary Fault Elements: Known as dangling faults, fault tips, or wing cracks. Subordinate to backbone structures. Experience lower mean stresses. More conducive to fluid entrapment and flow. Often prime sites for mineral deposition. 📌 Importance:Recognizing and mapping secondary elements can significantly enhance the accuracy of ore exploration and extraction strategies. #Geology #Mining #FaultZones #Mineralization #OreExploration #StructuralGeology #ResourceExploration #MineralDeposits

🎉 NEW REPORT BOOK AND DATA PACKAGE RELEASED 📖 Using geochemistry to assess the untapped critical minerals potential of South Australia's Kalkaroo Cu-Au, Portia Au and Shylock Au deposits of the Curnamona Province. 🙂 M. Terrones, A. Fabris, D. Zivak 🔗 https://ow.ly/JWj450TXMfJ With a growing focus on critical minerals, there is considerable opportunity for the extraction of additional elements at existing deposits. To explore this potential, the GSSA is resampling material from known deposits in South Australia Using historic records and drill core from the South Australia Drill Core Library, this report focuses on the critical mineral potential of the Kalkaroo, Portia and Shylock deposits of the Curnamona Province. In addition to known commodities of copper (Cu), gold (Au), and cobalt (Co), this report identifies the significant values of critical minerals at: ⛏️ Kalkaroo region - bismuth (Bi), molybdenum (Mo), tellurium (Te), and rare earth elements (REE). ⛏️ Portia region - bismuth (Bi), molybdenum (Mo), vanadium (V), and tungsten (W). #GSSA #SouthAustralia #Geology #Geoscience #GeologicalSurveySA #CriticalMinerals #Minerals #Curnamona #Au #Gold #Cu #Copper
