🍊 If you've ever had orange peels squeezed in your eyes as a kid or struggled to bite into an orange to start peeling it, we understand the frustration. We've had our reasons to dislike them too. However, when we learned about a company turning our annoyance into fabric, a newfound respect emerged. Orange Fiber, with production sites in Sicily, is the innovative company using orange by-products, which would otherwise go to waste, to create a fabric comparable to silk. Soft, silky, and lightweight, it is slowly becoming the perfect alternative to non-organic cotton or synthetic silks. In a nutshell, the process starts with the leftover peelings after industrial squeezing and using the cellulose to create a polymer that can be spun like wool. I'm a little bit rubbish on Linked in, I check in every so often and certainly don't post enough but the post below is too good not to share. At SCP, we rarely shout about the service we offer (I'm sure friends and family think I work for DFS!), and all of the developments we have been making. We are going to change that. Back in 2008, Sheridan Coakley decided that he didn't want to use chemical-filled foam in our own products. So, he embarked on a journey of re-engineering our entire own-brand collection using 100% sustainable materials. The hardest part of this is replicating the shape and comfort that foam affords us. He did this not because he wanted to tick a box, or win a project but because he truly felt it was the right thing to do for clients, the craftspeople and the environment. Many years later, they have more than mastered it, and we are very proud! Lovely article

This week we introduced three new colours to our insulated collection 🩷 Pelican Pink, 🍑 Pebble Peach and 🩶 Gentle Grey.  Sure, they look good.
