"One of the significant challenges for organisations to comply with legislations and to commit themselves to European green and circular initiatives, is the lack of detailed information about where they currently stand. For instance, without detailed insights into product composition and lifecycle, it is difficult to make sustainable decisions or comply with the goals that Europe aims to achieve. #Digital Product Passports (DPPs) are uniquely positioned to fill in this gap. Actually, the implementation of digital product passports is one of the key actions that the Circular Economy Action Plan (CEAP) prescribes". https://lnkd.in/daESaN2J #data #DataEconomy

In an era where #environmental protection and #sustainability are paramount, the European Union is poised to implement a groundbreaking initiative known as Digital Product Passports (DPPs). These digital records are set to revolutionise multiple industries by providing comprehensive insights into a product's entire lifecycle. From its inception to disposal, a DPP will offer a wealth of information, including the materials used in its creation, #environmental impact assessments, ownership details, responsible disposal guidelines, and crucial maintenance or warranty information. This innovative approach not only empowers consumers to make informed choices but also drives industries towards greater accountability and #sustainability. https://lnkd.in/dwhRSwDV

With the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) now in force, the Commission needs to set up a new Ecodesign Forum. This Forum is an important part of the future implementation of the ESPR, helping to shape, among others, the future information requirements for Digital Product Passports (DPPs). We hope to see the swift implementation of DPPs in a way that supports businesses while advancing Europe’s sustainability goals. The coming years will bring significant changes for many products on the European market, and Avery Dennison’s digital identification solutions are here to help businesses navigate and comply with these new rules. Europe embraces sustainability with new ecodesign rules On 23 April, the European Parliament approved a package of new rules aimed at moving the EU towards a greener and more sustainable future. The aim is to put an end to the 'take, make, throw away' model that is so damaging to the planet, our health and our economy. What's changing? - Durability & repairability ↳ the products will be made with an emphasis on recycling throughout manufacture, as well as longer lifespans and simpler repairs. - Digital passports ↳ they will provide information on the sustainability and disposal of products, enabling customers to make decisions that are in line with the environment. Additionally, the new rules ban destroying unsold products. What do you think of these new rules? Join us at recircular to champion the circular economy and push for a sustainable Europe! #CircularEconomy #BecauseWasteDoesNotExist #JoinTheCircularRevolution

✅ Digital product passports (DPP) are the future of product transparency. 💡 DPP provide detailed information about a product’s origin, composition, performance, as well as maintenance, repair, reuse, and recycling—promoting the transition to a circular economy. This tool helps companies use resources more efficiently and responsibly, ensuring they can be recycled and reused♻️ 💡 As part of the EU’s Green Deal, digital product passports will become mandatory under the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), which aims to set requirements for product sustainability and circularity. 💡 This regulation will impact all industries, making it essential for us to learn from one another and build a shared understanding of how these rules will be applied. 💡 In the SIS technical committee, companies, authorities, and organizations come together to influence future standards and shape a sustainable future. By collaborating, we create broad-based agreements that will guide industries globally on the path toward sustainability. ⭐️ Original Creation AB are so glad to be part of this committee together with Certify & Comply for a more sustainable future🌍✨ #circulareconomy #digitalproductpassport #sustainability #EU #ESPR #GreenDeal

Europe has set the goal to become fully circular by 2050. Central to this vision is the deployment of digital product passports, which provides detailed information about the entire lifecycle of a single product. This helps organisations to change their view on how they produce, use, and recycle goods and helps them to make their operations more sustainable and efficient. Where does Europe currently stand with regards to the development of DPPs? We spoke with Sjoerd Rongen, Digital Product Passports Lead at TNO and associated with the CoE-DSC, about the necessity, future implementation, and potential benefits of DPPs. [#policywatch] 🌿 The Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) is expected to come into effect in the coming weeks. All types of products will be affected, but priority will be given to those considered to have a high impact, notably textiles, lubricants, furniture, chemicals, iron, steel, tires, aluminum, paints, and other energy-related products, as well as ICT products and other electronic products. The regulation specifically requires the implementation of a Digital Product Passport to enhance transparency and sustainability. This will allow stakeholders, including consumers, to access detailed product information via a QR code. Want to learn more about DPPs? Check out our blog article or talk to our experts👇 #espr #ecodesign #impact #dpp #digitalproductpassport #traceability #supplychains #compliance

🇪🇺Today the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products EU regulation comes into force to enable greater circularity. ♻️One key element is the Digital Product Passport (DPP) which drives transparency of sustainability from production to end of life. 🧐This will enable and drive informed decisions by value-chain stakeholders and of course the customer. ⏳As with all aspects of business, once you have visibility improvements can be driven through rules. 🔋We anticipate that batteries will be amongst the first in focus and the automotive value chain should start preparing now with the support of partnership frameworks. #circularity #batterypassports #sustainability #automotive #euregulation #sustainableproducts

We don’t always celebrate new regulations – but here’s one worth celebrating. 😁 July 18 is a special day for anyone with a passion for automotive sustainability. 🍀 It’s the day when the new Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation comes into force across the European Union (EU). So why is this a cause for celebration? Well, 🍁firstly the regulation establishes a framework to promote circularity and other aspects of sustainability in various product groups, including automotive. 🍁in addition, the regulation introduces digital product passports (DPPs). And the first product group where DPPs will be mandated is batteries. It’s clear that better batteries and battery use are essential to the future of sustainable transport. 🍁 Digital passports are key because they can guarantee that batteries meet the highest standards of sustainability throughout their lifecycle. 😁 Please read my blog article to find out more, and then let me know what the new regulation means for your company. 👉 https://lnkd.in/e69MRaGa
