🎁 For the fourth straight year, our Düsseldorf office partnered with IMMOFINANZ to fulfill some Christmas wishes for Sterntaler e.v.!
The tree went up in early December, and was decorated with handmade Christmas ornaments from children at the Children’s Hospice Sterntaler. The ornaments had Christmas wishes listed, and our Mintel team got to work making those wishes come true. 🎁 What a beautiful way to celebrate the giving season! 💛 #MintelGives

We took a couple reports to the Arts, Recreation & Community Policies Committee last week, on a new pilot project that will provide funding and key services to local artists to support the creation of community-led murals on public and private property and an update on the progress of our review of the City of Kingston Arts Fund.
A call will be launching in the new year for the mural project, and $150,000 has been earmarked to support artist fees and other costs associated with creating and installing murals. The final recommendations for our arts fund program will be coming back to this Committee in February 2025 and to Council in March that will include a new framework for the program as it goes into year 18 and continues to offer funding to the local arts community. A huge thanks to everyone who has participated in this review and public consultations to-date.

Make Your Gifts to Oregon’s Cultural Landscape Count
For more than two decades, the Oregon Cultural Trust has been a stable and reliable source of funding for Oregon’s arts, heritage and humanities nonprofits.
No other state offers a tax credit to taxpayers who make donate to cultural organizations. No other state! That makes Oregon truly special.
There are more than 1,650 qualified nonprofit organizations in Oregon that benefit from the Cultural Trust’s grant funding, in support of all forms of cultural experiences. They include libraries, museums, historical societies, cultural centers, etc. – all of whom depend on this important funding.
The Cultural Trust annually awards grant monies to Cultural Coalitions in every county. Their support reaches all corners of the state, and Oregonians value their work have this incredible opportunity to leverage their giving power.
Since its inception in 2001, the Oregon Cultural Trust has awarded 10,000+ grants totaling more than $40 million in support of arts, heritage and humanities nonprofits.
What can you do as an Oregon taxpayer to participate and maximize funding for the arts?
It’s as easy as one, two, three!
Step 1
Donate to one or more of the Cultural Trust’s qualifying nonprofits before the end of the year. Want to focus on nonprofits in your local community? Check our list of qualifying nonprofits. Then, add up the donations you’ve made to qualifying nonprofits for the year.
Step 2
Donate a matching gift to the Oregon Cultural Trust by December 31 to qualify for the Cultural Tax Credit. For every matching dollar you donate to the Cultural Trust, the state will provide a dollar-for-dollar tax credit when you claim it on your state taxes. Keep in mind the tax credit limits are $500 for an individual, $1,000 for joint filers and $2,500 for class C or S corporations.
Step 3
Claim your tax credit by entering the amount you donated to the Cultural Trust on your state tax form.
So, mark your calendar for December 31. Once you’ve given to your favorite qualifying nonprofits, give to the Cultural Trust to double your impact!

Amager, right below Cph city center with over 200,000 residents, still holds onto pockets of close-knit community through traditions. An example is Denmark’s longest Christmas parade - bringing neighbors together year after year.
As someone born, raised and still living on Amager, I’ve watched this parade since I was a child. In recent years it’s been even more special as I’ve walked the 3.5 km through Amagerbrogade alongside my children and their local scout group.
The streets came alive with neighbors, families, and children eagerly giving high-fives, creating an atmosphere that embodied the spirit of Christmas ✨
But this parade is about more than holiday magic. It’s a testiment of the importance of building community and engagement. Businesses along Amagerbrogade have long recognized the value of investing in these traditions – not just for sales, but for building loyalty and support.
For those of us in the financial sector, it’s a great reminder that the greatest performance and returns often come from investing in people. 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗽𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗶𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗻 - 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 - 𝗴𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱.

Cleaning up loose trash is one of the best ways to pitch in for your community and the environment.
Volunteering as a means to help conserve and protect the environment has a lot of upsides. Of course, the first is that you’ll be taking care of our planet, and it badly needs a little love given the myriad ways in which we’ve become adept at destroying it. But beyond that, volunteering for a cause you care about is a great way to meet like-minded people, make friends, and pull yourself out of the blues that sometimes accompany caring a lot about something important – especially if you feel alone in your endeavors.
None of us like the sight of litter. Litter spoils the look of where we live but that’s not the only reason for picking up litter. There are a number of benefits from picking up litter that you may not have considered before.
Volunteer-led projects such as these are one of the quickest, simplest, and least expensive ways to inspire more community spirit and civic action. A visually appealing community increases property values, attracts businesses, and improves the neighborhood's image. Beauty is one of the three most influential factors in community attachment, which means loyalty, to your particular town or city. Some research even shows that a nice-looking neighborhood promotes good behavior.

An Online Memorial---A Life Long Memory!!
Willowise was founded by Brock and Esther Sheets. Brock’s dad, David, passed away unexpectedly due to Covid in early 2021. As the Sheets family was processing through this sudden loss, we decided a virtual memorial service was going to be the most effective way to honor David’s life and legacy. Having lived & served as a pastor in 11 different churches across 5 states, David’s “community” was spread out across the entire US. Travel to a single memorial service location simply wasn’t possible for all who loved David and called him friend.
Brock has spent 9+ years marketing, guiding the website design, producing webinars, hosting virtual meetings, and delivering virtual education for a professional defense association in Washington, DC. Esther has a gift of empathy and caring that is unmatched. She is able to uniquely connect with families & care for them in their grief. This combined experience was perfectly suited to create a beautiful tribute website and a moving memorial service for David with over 500 people in attendance.
Since then, Willowise has gone on to help thousands of satisfied people in their own seasons of loss. We combine user-friendly technology platforms, professional project management, and unmatched empathy to create a powerful and moving memorial experience for you and your loved-ones.
