It was an honour to present at the IBA’s second annual asset recovery conference in Madrid last week. It was an incredibly well organised and well attended event with leading practitioners of the asset recovery community. I was joined on my panel by João Bravo da Costa (Abreu Advogados), Héctor Sbert, Ph.D. (ECIJA), Brendan Weekes (Evelyn Partners) and Tara Plochocki (Sequor Law) to discuss asset tracing, recovery strategies and the diamond industry. We discussed the challenges of tracing diamonds, successful investigation and recovery techniques, alongside the application of tokenisation of legal rights to missing diamonds (and other missing physical assets) into non-fungible tokens (NFTs). #IBA #Assettracing #Diamonds

Compelling insights from fund managers and law professionals on the role of arbitration in investment fund-related disputes at the #LAD2024. The discussion highlighted the greater suitability of arbitration for AIF (alternative investment funds) funds, dedicated to professional investors, than for UCITS funds, often mixing professional investors and consumers.
