"I Don't Wear You Anymore" Every year, billions of animals lose their lives to feed the #FashionIndustry ’s obsession with leather and fur. Beyond the cruelty, the #EnvironmentalImpact of these materials is catastrophic—#deforestation, toxic waste, and pollution harm our #planet and its inhabitants. 🌍 The data doesn’t lie: leather isn’t a byproduct—it’s part of the profit machine fueling destruction. And with murky global #SupplyChains, we often don’t even know which species paid the ultimate price. We stand for #transparency, #responsibility, and #kindness. We believe fashion can be a force for good—where #innovation replaces exploitation. Together, we can choose #compassion over cruelty. It's time to wear your values, not animals. #Miomojo #BCorp #EthicalFashion #CrueltyFreeFashion #SustainableFashion #InnovativeMaterials #VeganMaterials

PFAS is the new DDT, the new lead. And soon, it will be illegal to sell products with PFAS in California and New York (whether you knew it was on there or not.) Is your brand ready? I've written up a guide to Forever Chemicals, and how you can ensure your brand doesn't accidentally get caught in litigation from angry customers, or break the law!
When Earth Day was founded, DDT was the scary, ubiquitous chemical impacting wildlife and humans. Today, it's PFAS that is the most persistent, widespread, carcinogenic, and reproductive toxic chemical that is still legal to dump in waterways and use in consumer products. It’s past time to get it out of our fashion, but it’s a confusing topic! So to commemorate Earth Day this year, we’re releasing a guide for fashion entrepreneurs and sustainability managers that will help you get PFAS out of your collection. https://lnkd.in/e4Gten8j #sustainablefashion #pfas #pfasfree #nontoxic #fashiondesigner #fashionentrepreneur #fashionbrand

👚 The #fashion sector is almost entirely unregulated, despite being one of the largest manufacturing industries worldwide. Fashion production is a major polluter. Manufacturing clothes contaminates our fresh water systems, depletes healthy soil, pollutes our air and befouls our oceans. All of which puts #biodiversity at risk, and harms both humans and wildlife. ♻️ Think someone could learn from this? Repost. #FastFashion #Sustainability #GreenTransition #SustainabilityEducation

🌱👗 On this #ZeroWasteDay, let's delve into the critical intersection of fashion and sustainability. Did you know that the fashion industry is responsible for a staggering 2-8% of global greenhouse gas emissions, generates 92 million tonnes of textile waste annually, and contributes to 9% of the yearly microplastic losses in our oceans? 💡 Amidst these concerning statistics, there's a glimmer of hope. FAO is at the forefront of a bioeconomy revolution, transforming waste into valuable resources. From utilizing banana peels for textiles to crafting leather from mushrooms, the potential is boundless. 🔄 By integrating #bioeconomy principles into #circular fashion practices, we're not only mitigating #environmental harm but also nurturing #innovation and creativity. Together, let's pave the path towards a fashion industry that operates sustainably and ethically. How are you contributing to #ZeroWasteDay? The Dark Side of ⬛ Fast Fashion: A Call to Conscious Consumerism The glitz and glamour of the fashion industry often mask a darker reality. Fast fashion, with its rapid production cycles and low prices, has severe environmental and social consequences. ⚫ Environmental Impact: #Water Pollution: Textile dyeing is a major culprit, releasing harmful chemicals into water bodies. #Microplastic Pollution: Synthetic fibers shed microplastics during washing, polluting our oceans. #Water Scarcity: Cotton cultivation, a major textile source, is incredibly water-intensive. #Landfill Crisis: The industry's overproduction leads to immense textile waste. ⚫ Social Impact: #Exploitative Labor: Workers, often in developing countries, endure poor working conditions and low wages. #Ethical Concerns: Animal welfare issues and lack of supply chain transparency are prevalent. 🖤 Let's Connect & Work together to build a more sustainable and ethical fashion future. #fastfashion #sustainability #ethicalfashion #consciousconsumerism #environment #socialjustice

In a world where ‘sustainability’ is the watchword, it’s time to peel back the layers on vegan ‘leather.’ This modern marvel, often praised for its cruelty-free badge, may not be the eco-hero we assumed. Crafted from petrochemicals, many vegan leathers are just plastics in disguise, trading one ethical dilemma for an environmental one. Let’s pivot our perspective. Real leather, steeped in tradition, isn’t just about heritage—it’s about harmony with nature. Biodegradable and enduring, leather pieces are investments in our planet’s future. They age not with a whimper but with a patina that tells our story. As we stride towards a more conscious world, let’s choose materials that don’t just save our conscience but also our environment. #SustainableChoices #EthicalFashion #RealLeather #EcoConscious #DurabilityMeetsDesign #FashionForward #NatureAndNurture #StyleWithSubstance #LegacyLeather
