A new Turquoise Hydrogen project has been announced by NW Natural and Modern Hydrogen, featuring an innovative form of carbon capture aimed at reducing emissions by blending natural gas with hydrogen. This collaboration marks several firsts: - The first utility-distributed pyrolysis system - The first pipeline injection of pyrolytic hydrogen - The first solid carbon capture project for both companies Over this three-year pilot, they'll utilize methane pyrolysis to create Turquoise Hydrogen and carbon black, a key material in the rubber industry. Notably, manufacturers like Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company have already used black carbon produced by Monolith. The effect of hard-to-control power fluctuations on the already challenging hydrogen manufacturing process poses a serious obstacle to the large-scale commercialization of green hydrogen and its byproducts. Based on experience in hydrogen equipment production , we has developed a blueprint for a standard 4 Gigawatt modular electrolyzer manufacturing plant, which includes production lines for high-pressure, low-pressure, and PEM electrolyzers. In the near future, standardized net zero hydrogen and ammonia plants built on a modular approach will be replicated globally, serving various green hydrogen and ammonia projects.
