Meta Monday and that pesky Ryan Reynolds is back it. Not content with the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine, he is using sponsored ads to push investment in his Quantum AI Trading Platform. All he requires is a "minimum deposit of just 250 Canadian dollars" and a 4th wall break. Domain analysis also shows that the same domain names have featured identical ads containing Ben Fogle, Wayne Gretzky, Tony Blair, and Kevin O'Leary Only interested in Ryan? Need an impactful icebreaker? Try this. Spent yesterday with Ben Kingsberry and his brilliant team at Harcourts Townsville, helping them up their online presence so they grab attention of new customers before their competitors. To encourage big-picture thinking, I started with Google’s “Year in Search” video—a 25-year trip through the top searched events/ personalities since 1998. Then came the icebreaker. What would make the cut in Google’s 50th-anniversary video in 2048? ChatGPT deciphered the notes (thanks Monique Sullivan) and gave us a top 10 list and here’s what it looks like: 1 - Planet-Hopping Earth getting a bit crowded? Not to worry, 2048 might see us setting up Airbnb listings on other planets! First stop: Jupiter’s moons. The big debate? Which language will dominate our intergalactic colony. Mandarin’s in the lead. 2 -TikTok Trends - Galaxy Edition Just when we thought TikTok couldn’t get more addictive, now it’s all about galactic dance challenges and zero-gravity skits. 3 - AI Everything By 2048, AI may be so smart it’ll start reminding us of things we never knew. From diagnosing that strange sneeze to suggesting dinner based on our nutrient levels, AI will be the ultimate life coach, doctor, and DJ rolled into one. 4 - Microplastics Go Bye-Bye Tiny plastic particles might finally meet their match. Once viewed as the “glitter of the apocalypse,” microplastics could be eradicated from bodies and beaches alike. 5 - Climate Change: The Sequel Imagine 2048’s global climate challenges meet massive teamwork. The big twist? We actually get it together and change the climate’s trajectory. “Fixing Earth” will be more popular than any superhero movie. 6 - Self-Driving Planes and Virtual Property In 2048, we’re all about taxi planes flying themselves and “real estate” that’s entirely virtual. 7 - Live to 150 Forget birthday cards. By 2048, you’ll need century cards, as medical science slows aging and extends life. Anti-aging tech could mean blowing out candles well into your triple digits. 8 - Space, Robots, and… More Space! Picture 2048: we’re building outposts in space, assisted by robots that do everything but say “I told you so.” Robots and space: the buddy duo of the future! 9 - Social Shifts & AI Revolution Rights, equality, and privacy laws will be under the microscope, as more of our lives move online. And virtual reality could bring it all to life—imagine activism taking place in VR, where anyone can join the movement from anywhere. 10 - Pets, Virtual and Real Why stop with human advancements? We’re looking at a future where your pet may be half-robot and able to order their own kibble in the metaverse! This 2048 Year in Search video could be epic—highlighting a world where we live longer, smarter, and hopefully, a little wiser. Let’s just say the future looks like one big cosmic ride! I hope I am around to see it and Ben asks me back to work with his 2048 team. #realestate #realestateagent #Googleyearinsearch

If they have your attention, they have your pocket book. The value of attention has never been more apparent than in the staggering $853 billion in global net advertising revenue generated in 2023 (Source: Forbes) In a survey done on Meta in 2018, it has been estimated that a teenagers attention is estimated to cost around $270. This basically means that these tech giants thrive off from your attention to increase their profits by an intentional supply of algorithmic content delivered directly to your phone. Human attention is now a commodity. One of the easiest way to take a break from these constant dopamine hits is to just....take a break. Get out - breathe, read, exercise. A simple moment of silence will make you think about what you are naturally curious about, delve deep into it instead of being fed with an array of content that is meant to keep you in stasis.
