Planning an international getaway? Generally, Medicare does not cover health care services when you're traveling abroad, with a few exceptions: ☑️ Emergency services onboard a ship within the territorial waters of the U.S. when the ship is within six hours of a U.S. port. The doctor must also be legally allowed to provide medical services on a cruise ship. ☑️ Medically necessary services in a foreign country under specific circumstances, such as if a medical emergency occurs in the U.S. but the foreign hospital is closer, or during travel through Canada without unreasonable delay between Alaska and another U.S. state. Should these exceptions apply, you're still responsible for the usual deductibles, copayments, and coinsurance as if you were in the U.S. However, in most cases, you'll be responsible for 100% of the costs. Traveling should be about making memories, not worrying about coverage. Whether you're exploring new horizons or visiting loved ones, our team is here to help ensure you're prepared for any health care needs abroad. Feel free to reach out anytime with questions about your Medicare coverage while traveling and how our travel insurance plans can fill in any gaps in coverage! 🌟✈️ #InternationalTravel #MedicareCoverage #SeniorTravel #TravelProtection

Travelling outside of Canada this winter? Best to be prepared in case you need medical attention while abroad. Unfortunately, it’s not as simple as packing your health card next to your sunscreen and paperback Scandinavian thriller. While provinces may cover some expenses, it’s rarely enough to tackle large medical bills. That's why travel insurance is a must-have (unless you love surprises...of the expensive kind). And if things go sideways? Canadian consulates can assist—but don’t expect them to double as your doctor. They’re there for support, not stitches. Pro tip: Do your homework before you go. Check with your province AND invest in some solid travel insurance. Read the full article at Healthcare For Real for details and travel smarter, not riskier. #TravelTips #CanadianHealthcare #TravelInsurance #StayCovered #WanderWisely https://lnkd.in/giusjCPn

If you plan on travelling to Canada and require medical attention during your visit, keep in mind that Canada does not cover medical costs for visitors. I recommend obtaining health or travel insurance before visiting Canada to ensure a worry-free trip and avoid unexpected expenses, which could cost you thousands of dollars! #canadaimmigration #visitcanada

Have you ever wondered how [mostly] free healthcare works when traveling within Canada? Probably not! Believe it or not, travel insurance is a need even if you stay in Canada for a getaway trip! 🛫🍁 If you require emergency 🚒 medical care in another Canadian province or territory, you can see a doctor or visit a hospital 🏥 without having to pick up the tab (unless you're in Quebec). That said, each province has their own limit ⏳ for how long you can be away from home, and not all medical expenses are covered if you're in another province. 🦷👨🏻⚕️ Accidental dental care 💊🌿 Prescription drugs 🚑💨 Ambulance fees 🚁⚕️ Air ambulance fees 🚌💨Transportation back home If you want to learn more, reach out! I would love to schedule a time to help you, your family, or your business make informed decisions, and to create a strategy tailored to your specific financial goals and circumstances. 👩🏽🏫💸 https://lnkd.in/dveQwRid #healthinsurance #canadianhealthcare #Canadahealthcare #healthcare #freehealthcare #moneymanagement #travelinsurance #womanownedbusiness #entrepreneur #financialfreedom #financialplanning #financialeducation #financialadvisor #provincialhealthcare #latinaownedbusiness #latino #latina #yeg #yeglocal #yegbusiness

Out-of-province emergency travel coverage is key in group benefits. Whether for business, personal, or school-related, plan sponsors and members should always review their group benefit contract and keep the following in mind: ▶ Plan members (and dependents) must be covered by their provincial health plan to be covered for out-of-province travel. ▶ While provinces have reciprocal agreements, some healthcare providers may refuse out-of-province cards, requiring upfront payment. ▶ Be aware that group plans may exclude trip interruption, cancellation, or baggage loss. Understand what your contract covers to avoid surprises. ▶ Review any exclusions for travel to high-risk countries as medical assistance may not be provided. ▶ Know your out-of-province coverage duration—typically 60 or 90 days. ▶ For trips exceeding this, consider individual insurance. If a student is studying out-of-province, contact your Leslie Consulting Group Account Manager for support. There are two key factors to remember in travel coverage: "Emergency" and "Stability." ▶ Reimbursement only applies to sudden, unforeseen emergencies—planned treatment for known conditions is not covered. ▶ Pre-existing conditions must be stable, and issues within the last 60 to 90 days may void coverage. A doctor's note does not guarantee approval. Plan sponsors should understand these provisions and remind employees, especially for business travel, to confirm their coverage and check for stability of pre-existing conditions. #travelcoverage #thingstoknow #plansponsors #PSA #planmembers #emergency #stability #support

#USInboundTravelInsurance Meme #8 Attention, travel insurance companies! Did you know that out-of-network medical services in the U.S., while expensive, are often substantially still lower than the inflated bills international travel insurers are being asked to pay? Here’s what you need to know: 1️⃣ Skyrocketing Charges: Some facilities charge 5x-10x more than their out-of-network rates simply because the patient is international. 2️⃣ Unnecessary Services: Without proper utilization management, international patients may face extra screenings and services they don’t need—at a hefty cost. 3️⃣ Over-Hospitalization: Unlike domestic insurers, international insurance companies often don’t enforce pre-approval for bed days, leading to longer (and pricier) hospital stays than necessary. It’s time to rethink cost containment strategies and ensure fair pricing for medical claims in the U.S.! #InsuranceIndustry #CostContainment #TravelInsurance #HealthcareFinance #USHealthcare
