🌟 When it comes to healthcare, embracing gender-affirming care practices is absolutely crucial. It's about creating environments where every patient feels respected and supported on their path to wellness. That means using the names and pronouns that patients identify with and tailoring care to meet their unique health needs. Transgender and Non-Binary individuals often encounter specific barriers in accessing healthcare, which directly impacts their overall well-being. By adopting inclusive policies and offering comprehensive support, healthcare providers can truly improve the quality of care and ensure equity in healthcare delivery. Let's keep pushing for practices that prioritize dignity, respect, and inclusivity for Trans and Non-Binary patients. Click the link in the comments to schedule a call. Calling all #disabled connections in the U.S. (including those of us disabled by society). Extremely important opportunity to provide feedback on #accessibility in #healthcare that only takes a couple of minutes. This may dredge up some emotions, but it’s so critical to flood them with our lived reality. The survey only has a few questions but this will be an opportunity for our #disability to share with the #government #accountability office how the U.S. heath care system has has done us wrong. https://lnkd.in/gx2W6WSi (Image has #AltText)

Big Picture Thinking in the NDIS and Community Health Sector: Questions for Discussion In the evolving landscape of the NDIS and community health, adopting a bigger picture mindset is crucial. Here are some key questions I have …. 1. Embracing Innovation How can we leverage new technologies to enhance service delivery and improve outcomes? What are the most promising innovations you’ve seen in the sector? 2. Collaboration and Integration What are the best strategies for fostering partnerships with allied health providers and community groups? How can we break down silos to create seamless support systems? 3. Person-Centered Approach How can we ensure our services are tailored to empower individuals and enhance their quality of life? What are some successful examples of person-centered care in your experience? 4. Sustainability and Resilience What strategies have you found effective in creating financially sustainable models amidst economic pressures? How can we adapt to changing circumstances while maintaining high-quality care? 5. Advocacy and Awareness How can we raise awareness and effectively advocate for policy changes and increased support for individuals with disabilities? What advocacy efforts have you found most impactful? 6. Workforce Development What are the best practices for investing in the professional development and well-being of our staff? How can we support our workforce to meet the evolving demands of their roles? 7. Has anyone actually grown a bonsai to look like this image? By engaging with these questions, we can collectively navigate the challenges and opportunities in the NDIS and community health sector. Let’s drive positive change, inspire innovation, and build a resilient, inclusive community. #NDIS #CommunityHealth #Innovation #Collaboration #PersonCenteredCare #Sustainability #Advocacy #WorkforceDevelopment #HolisticServices

📌Today is International Universal Health Coverage Day #UHCDay #UHC can only be realized if people are able to access the assistive technology when and where they need it! At the #WorldHealthSummit in October 2024, we co-convened a strategic roundtable on the role of #AssistiveTechnology in addressing public health challenges and strengthening health systems for equitable access. This is especially important in low- and middle-income countries, as well as in emergency situations. The event, co-hosted by ATscale, CBM Christian Blind Mission (CBM), Clinton Health Access Initiative, Inc. (CHAI), and World Health Organization's Access to Assistive Technology team, brought together global leaders in #Health, and experts from the ageing, noncommunicable diseases, and disability sectors. 👉 In case you missed the #WHS2024 strategic roundtable, read the report from the discussion. This will be used to inform national policies, contribute to a World Health Organization and UNICEF Global Road Map on Accelerating Access to Assistive Technology and may inform the Global Disability Summit in April 2025: https://ow.ly/puxt50UpCym This #UHCDay 2024 we call on decision-makers around the world to protect people from financial hardship when accessing health services. #UnlockTheEveryday #UHCDay #InclusiveHealth #WHS #DisabilityInclusion #ATChangesLives #HealthEquity #HealthForAll #LeaveNoOneBehind #UniversalHealthCoverage
