Our client Converge has opened applications to its 2024 program, providing over £280,000 in funding and support to empower the next generation of founders across Scottish universities to turn ideas into businesses with purpose. At Hot Tin Roof, we’ve seen first-hand Converge’s strong track record in fostering startup creation and inclusive innovation. So far, its team has supported the launch of over 420 companies, including recent climate-tech startup Robocean. Robocean, founded by The University of Edinburgh graduates, is developing robotic technology to reinstate vanishing ocean seagrass meadows. Winning Converge's 2022 Net Zero Challenge provided co-founder Niall M. with vital funding and advice to help launch his innovative climate solution. It was great to meet the TechStars Columbus Class of 2024 last night. There were 12 companies from both Columbus and across the globe. TechStars was brought to Columbus as part of the broader vision of the The Ohio State University Center for Software Innovation - The Center for Software Innovation aims to catalyze efforts across the region to create a hub for innovation, entrepreneurship and product development activity. A big congrats to the companies Currents, Blomso, Pedal Data, Cariqa, Sentius, Besample, Aspect Health , Superfan,Rubato-Life,PlugOp Technologies, Seek AI, Blended Edge I'm thrilled to be on the advisory board for the Center. Last years conference was the kickoff for the Center and the kickoff off this cohort is big milestone towards Ohio becoming a world center of the global digital ecosystem. Thanks to Ratmir Timashev for his vision and his $110M gift to launch the center. About TechStars - Techstars is a pre-seed investor that provides access to capital, mentorship, and other support for early-stage entrepreneurs. It was founded in 2006 in Boulder, Colorado.
