3 Steps to securing a startup internship: 1. Find a startup that's doing things you care about 2. Show them how much you care 3. Tell them how you can help So rather than go for the resume boost, see if you can find a startup solving a problem that you yourself would want to solve. Then reach out and let them know why you think their work is interesting and that you'd like to learn more. And finally, make a proposal about how you can be valuable to the team. For deep dives on how to execute all three of these steps, check out "A Student's Guide to Startup Internships" linked below. #startups #entrepreneurship #venture #collegestudents #universitystudents #internship #opportunity #experience #learning #content #college

Does anyone have any good leads for companies/startups that are building a better way to recruit entrepreneurial talent? (Aka a marketplace that connects startups to entrepreneurial talent). We are aware of Wellfound and a few internship groups but would be great to get some other ideas.... 🙃 #startuphiring #hiringforstartups #startupmarketplace #hiringask

How I cured my own "analysis paralysis" as a founder: I focused on doing one thing REALLY well. Catalyst XL has always been working to expose students to the world of entrepreneurship. But there are a million ways to approach that, and we were going to take all of those approaches at once. But with limited resources, I realized we were setting ourselves up for failure. We needed to find a "silver bullet" way to solve the problem, rather than the scattered "shotgun" approach we were going to take. So we focused on what we do best: startup internships. For students, internships are an elegant way to gain a deeper understanding of the startup ecosystem, build a network, develop their entrepreneurial mindset, and work with incredible mentors. That's not to say we ONLY help students get startup internships. But everything else we do (education, community engagement) is to enhance our ability to help students in this way. So if you're struggling with that type of paralysis, the solution might be pretty simple: focus on something that 1: you know you can do and 2: you know solves the problem. #entrepreneurship #startups #venture #innovation #tech #builders #founders #internship #opportunity #experience #founders #students

For all entrepreneurial undergraduates, Catalyst XL is waiting for your application 📜 We are a global community of student innovators making waves in the startup ecosystem. We partner with fast-growing startups to get YOU a meaningful internship with an impactful company. But why do we do it? To show students an alternative to "the system". We believe students deserve more high-responsibility opportunities to do work that they genuinely care about. Rather than sit in spreadsheets from 9-5 every day at some big-name company, our students typically take on much more involved roles with our partnered startups. So instead of chasing opportunities to be employee #55478, you could work with Catalyst and be employee #1. So if you're an undergraduate student with entrepreneurial experience and that sounds interesting to you, comment your email and I'll send you the application! #students #builders #founders #startups #entrepreneurship #collegestudents #internship #opportunity #innovation #impact

Back in 2021, I came across the word “internship” for the first time when I landed on my first one at Techiegen Ventures Pvt Ltd. as a freshman. Being a freshman, I gained: - New perspectives - Basic professional etiquette - Insight into the startup ecosystem and how incubators work So, If you’re in the process of figuring things out, why not start with a senior’s startup? Most are incubated in your college which makes getting permissions a lot easier! But here’s my additional tip: do some homework and aim for a funded or real-world startup in the niche you look for. Why? Because it brings: - A sharper learning curve - A chance to work with full-time professionals - Exposure to real market challenges Not sure where to start? Feel free to DM me - let’s figure it out together! #careerquest PS: A picture during my Internship. ft. Surendar Kv Naga Shivani

Big corporation or startup—which is the better choice for an internship? While large companies offer stability, startups provide hands-on experience that fosters entrepreneurial skills, adaptability, and insights into how to build an early-stage company. Plus, with more startups hiring interns for full-time roles, your internship could be the first step toward a successful career. After all, every global giant started as a startup, and today’s startups could be the next Uber or OpenAI. Dr. Samantha Dewalt, Managing Director, and Sarah Leedberg, Assistant Director of Innovation Programs at Lehigh@NasdaqCenter, highlight in University World News how startups give student interns unique opportunities for career growth. Ready to gain real-world career experience? Apply to intern at a startup this spring through Lehigh@NasdaqCenter’s Innovation Internship.
