If it’s been too long, check this out: https://buff.ly/3x2nRss University of Kentucky law school professor Brian Fry devised the NYT Ranking which rates law schools by the number of times they were mentioned in the New York Times in the past year. He says, “If the New York Times says it, it must be true” but notes a couple of drawbacks: • Nearly half of the 196 law schools he ranks (those ABA law schools rated by the US News & World Report) never received a single mention in the Times for an entire year, so they all tied at #103 on his chart; • And his ranking system doesn’t differentiate between positive and negative mentions – but, he argues, there’s no such thing as bad publicity.” Frye believes that his “NYT ranking is an important innovation in law school ranking, because it is much funnier than other law school ranking methodologies.” Funnier, yes—and maybe just as useful as other law school rankings.
