A week ago today, we launched the 2023 Progress Report for the Alliance to End Plastic Waste. Witnessing first-hand the immense work that has gone into this report—and the very promising results—has been an honour. And yet our efforts have not slowed since. Tomorrow we don't want to say why didn't we start sooner, instead we want us all to imagine how far we can go together. We continue to push forward toward our collective goal of achieving plastic circularity and eliminating plastic waste in the environment through systems change. Today it's reducing 118,580 tonnes of unmanaged plastic waste, and improving the quality of lives for close to 8,000 informal waste workers with income boosts, sanitary and safe working conditions and/or social benefits; tomorrow we go must only go higher and we must do even better.
