Transforming Fire Safety in Building Design The Grenfell Phase 2 report, with its 58 recommendations (and many subject posts), underscores the need for clear communication and critical thinking in fire safety design. With process change already underway and more to follow —such as the applicability of the BS476 series and tighter responsibilities for all design professionals — the need for a change in the mindset of how we approach fire safety through critical thinking and collaboration is clear. At MJP, we're committed to leading these changes with innovative, practical fire safety solutions. Drop us a line and let’s shape the future together. #FireSafety #BuildingSafety #Collaboration #Innovation

We're back with another insightful webinar tailored for building professionals and designers working on fire safety! You must be aware that various factors, such as raw materials, production methods, and operators' skills, can significantly impact the quality of the supplied product for end-users and its continuity in meeting the design "FRL" of the originally tested prototype. Let us help you be more compliant and efficient. This session will dive deeper into the recently published third-party certifications of our firestop products with UL-AU and their alignment with the NCC 2022. It will help you understand the importance of these certifications and gain valuable insights into passive fire protection. Don't miss out on this opportunity! Interesting but I'll add the following: In London we have the planning requirements under the London Plan Policies D11 -Fire Safety & D5- Evacuation Lifts Statutory guidance development I.e. committees/consultation/vested interests input is not fit for purpose. ADB even in this revised form is not suitable for use in HRBs anyway! Means of escape means 'safety for all' not just those who can use the stair(s)! ADB 5 - FRS provisions have not been amended (lobby protection to fire fighting stair/dry-riser provision) AD B1/5 - Smoke mitigation has not been ammended I.e natural ventilation still indicated AD B1 - I'll leave it with the point that 2 stairs is a 'recommendation' and so was Class 0 cladding! (What is a Principal Designer going to base their design on?)

❔ Crowd, Events and Public Safety Question ❔ When is a temporary structure no longer a temporary structure? When does a temporary structure cease to be temporary resulting in it becoming a full-blown permanent structure under ‘Temporary Demountable Structures (TDS)’ guidance? (And therefore, then compliant to Approved Document B building control documentation) Simple answer, when it’s been in place for longer than 28 days. That’s the cut off. After that full building control and fire regulations and Approved Document B building control documentation come into play. So, how many places do you know have temporary structures e.g., marquees, for longer than 28 days? https://lnkd.in/eB3i6nPs #temporarystructure #TDS #eventproffesional #fireregulations #crowdsafety #eventsafety #eventmanagement #venuemanagement
