His background as a university lecturer, photo artist and digital media freelancer makes him one of the leading experts in AI images and moving images. In December 2022, Boris was the first person in Germany to offer online workshops on the topic. Since then, he has taught over 70 workshops (as of summer 2024) and has continuously developed his teaching. He is internationally valued as a teacher and has trained many of today's opinion leaders. In April 2023, he turned down the Sony World Photography Award (Open Category / Creative) because he had applied with an AI-generated image to test whether photography competitions and a debate on the relationship between AI-generated images and photography were possible. His stunt became worldwide news and his image PSEUDOMNESIA | The Electrician became one of the most famous of the year. To learn more visit our website:

Machines Talking About Art: Language Versus Communication Models 🖼 In this article, Antonio Origlia and Maria Laura Chiacchio explore the evolving role of AI in museums and art interpretation. They discuss the differences between AI’s ability to generate language and its struggle to grasp the deeper intent behind visual communication. The article also examines how museums integrate AI to enhance visitor experiences while questioning the limitations of these technologies. Very keen to see the findings from Art Fund's upcoming research into the impact visual arts have on dopamine levels. ECG monitors will be available to exhibition goers, and the fluctuating brainwave patterns will then be modeled by artist Seph Li into 3D models and artworks in of themselves. Exciting bits: 👨🎨 The intersection between data driven research and cultural experience to 'prove' what we all know: Art (can) make you feel happy 🦄 The use of digital art to create visual data sets that are in of themselves an art form 🤖Cool headsets Potential problems: Art's function isn't to only make us feel happy, although that is great in of itself, it is just as important to process trauma, anger etc and give a structured way to manage the unmangeable. The immediate bias in anyone who already willingly attends exhibitions ie presumably enjoys them, will no doubt always feel some degree of satisfaction being there. It would be interesting to create this data set and then compare it against other dopamine inducing activities to try and create a comparitive understanding of how art fits into broader wellbeing initiatives eg how are dopamine levels affected by viewing a landscape vs walking in a landscape. https://lnkd.in/dQ5qwXFQ #artforchange #valueofcreation #digitalarts

🔴 (𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧'𝗦 𝗡𝗘𝗪?) This is Pure Gold This will be an amazing week for two main reasons. First, you will see eight splendid new artworks that you have never seen before. The quality is very high, which is why some of them are on Saatchi instead of Artmajeur. As I have mentioned many times, I use Saatchi for international exposure when my pieces are truly ready to make a significant global impact. These artworks are intended for museum display rather than private homes. On the other hand, I use Artmajeur for a more regional audience, mainly in Europe, where I showcase high-quality works that resonate with European sensibilities. These pieces are often more provocative, sexually impactful, and connected to our continental traditions. Additionally, I have exciting news: you will soon see an AI statement, the first of its kind in the history of AI and art. In this comprehensive and powerful document, I will share my intentions, the limits I want to apply to this technology, and my vision for its use. I aim to gain recognition as an artist while addressing the usual negative comments, offenses, and attacks we face daily. So, turn on notifications, check this channel, and stay tuned for my upcoming posts because, as I said, this week will be very special! Artists can use AI for so much more than kitschy stock photos. Watch this webinar recording of digital trailblazer Christiane Paul describing how artists explore the boundaries and blind spots of artificial intelligence. From Harold Cohen’s drawing machines from the 60s to Ubermorgan’s AI that builds an exhibition from scratch, Paul bursts myths about AI art’s dependence on training data, historical hype cycles, and relationship to photography. 🍿 Use the interactive table of contents to jump to historical precedents from the 1960s to the present or hear answers to audience questions about aesthetics, sustainability, and preservation. Installation view of my work "hand of god", 2024 as part of the exhibition "Be here now - The nominees’ exhibition for the Haus am Kleistpark 2024 Art Prize" 30 August – 6 October 2024 Mixed-media installation, 280 x 160 x 110 cm Full-HD video, loop, 12:40 min, sound, 55” monitor, print on fabric, LED light, silicone, pigments, metal No other topic currently polarizes as much as the use of machine learning systems (AI) in our private and professional environments. The question of whether it is a curse or a blessing does not spare the realm of art either. In the multimedia work "the hand of god," I address the role of the hand as a tool for artists and the transformation of this significant role due to the increasing influence of automated, non-human imagery and artificial intelligence (AI) on art. The title refers to the sculpture by Rodin, which has been reproduced and reinterpreted multiple times. Traditionally, the artist's hand symbolized their genius: it transferred the spirit onto the material. At the same time, the hand is one of the more challenging subjects for AI-based image generators, as it is often rendered incorrectly or distorted. In art history, the hand has been a recurring motif that referred both to its symbolic value and to the creative process itself. The work has been developed in collaboration with various machine learning systems, such as speech, image, and video generators, and has been expanded by me through handcrafted sculptures made of silicone. What if the distinctions between humans, animals, and minerals disappeared into a seamless union, with nature and technology coexisting in a harmonious symbiosis? My new digital collection FairyBlues combines traditional digital painting techniques with carefully supervised AI, which is trained on images from my performance art repertory. These works celebrate the new mythology of the Chthulucene, which is influenced by Donna Haraway's ideas and envisions a universe of hybridized human, animal, and mineral forms. In this contemporary mythology, I investigate a symbiotic interaction between nature and technology, pushing the limits of identity, existence, and evolution. Through these inventions, I envision a future in which organic and synthetic elements coexist, resulting in new lifeforms and narratives that transcend the anthropocentric worldview. This dynamic mythos alludes to the fluidity of being and the possibility of harmony in a world transformed by hybridizations. https://lnkd.in/gh2gWA-Z

"Historical #Radiance #Fields and #Museums" by Michael Rubloff at Radiance Fields (NeRFs and Gaussian Splatting) Throughout the twentieth century, the lens of photography and the frames of film have captured moments that define human history. From the stark realities of the Great Depression to the cinematic escapades that have captured our imaginations, these two-dimensional windows have shaped our understanding of the world. As we progressed from the still image to the moving picture, each snapshot and scene brought us closer to the tapestry of human experience. Yet, there remained a boundary between viewer and subject, a flat plane upon which we could observe but not enter. Still today, you would be hardpressed to go more than an hour without interacting with some form of imaging. In our quest for immersion, technology has relentlessly pushed the boundaries, seeking to break the plane and invite us into the picture. Now, we stand at the precipice of a new dimension. Radiance fields are the gateway to reliving history as if standing within it. #Radiance #fields transform flat images into #explorable #threedimensional #spaces. Imagine stepping into a photograph, walking around within it, observing every angle as if it were real. This is the promise of radiance fields: full immersion in a previously flat world. One crowning success of photography is the ability to document specific moments in time for infinite generations to view. The question becomes, how do you step that up a notch? Radiance fields appear to have the answer to that question going forwards, but can they process footage from a long time ago and allow us to become closer to historical events, long passed? The answer is, yes. Here are two different examples of radiance fields recreating historical moments in time, long gone. The first, a NeRF through Luma #AI and second through #3D #Gaussian #Splatting. This was prior to the Luma integrating Gaussian Splatting through their Interactive Scenes. https://lnkd.in/dsQpAvgU
