I enjoyed talking Roger's ear off about the direction of travel for state and occupational pensions under the main parties' manifestos. Adjustments to the state pension are important, but in my view there needs to be focus on boosting savings outside of this to ensure #RetirementAdequacy - enhancing the mandatory autoenrolment regime and implementing changes that will directly benefit member outcomes. #generalelection #gennylec24

I'm not usually one to post at weekends but with a lot going on at the moment I wanted to flag up some interesting links: 1) 📊 The place to be on Budget Day: https://lnkd.in/ebFYNgHu. Our team's live resource on the Autumn Budget 2024 breaks down potential pension tax changes and their implications. Bookmark it and check back on Budget Day for real-time updates! 2) 🎉 Risk-sharing updates: WTW have been appointed by Nest pensions to develop a new income offering for DC retirees https://lnkd.in/ebDsgwzd. This news follows on from an impressively big week in the risk-sharing space last week including: - the launch of the Royal Mail CDC scheme (with WTW appointed as Scheme Actuary) https://lnkd.in/eJc6HKWS 🚀 - DWP publishing their consultation around extending CDC provision to multi-employer schemes https://lnkd.in/e7sjYNc3 📑 and - the release of WTW's white paper "Reimagining Pensions" https://lnkd.in/eSFbFBA4 ✍ It's been incredible to be a part of this and to see all the hard work finally coming together, to gather some real momentum in this area. One last link to mention here is this blog around the importance of informed decision making at retirement where I was apparently feeling rather poetic about the different decumulation options! https://lnkd.in/eWbqmwCS 3)🚦New DB Funding Code: Check out this article https://lnkd.in/ehpu7q7V considering what has changed in the final version of TPR's funding code.
