Following on from my Gartner post, I recently had a fantastic conversation with a colleague around the importance of engaging stakeholders from other areas within the business, especially HR, to truly understand and address pain points to improve Employee Experience overall. We were discussing the hire-to-retire lifecycle and spent some time discussing the employee experience during the hiring process. One of the things that has continued to boggle my mind is the amount of time it typically takes in the US to find and secure a new job versus how long it took when I lived in the UK. Admittedly I left the UK 8 years ago so I'm not as in touch with current trends. Although I'm sure it's still way longer in the US. As we discussed the topic, it became clear that there is potentially great opportunity for Digital Workplace Teams to partner to even greater levels with HR to improve that hire-to-retire lifecycle. As XPIs gain traction we also discussed the quantitate and qualitative metrics needed to measure the experience and what it could mean for talent attraction and retention. Still pondering this and I'd love to hear other thoughts or experiences...
