Recently, a client approached me with a curious dilemma: whether to launch their innovative new beverage in a can or bottle. Given the beverage's unique nature and visually appealing liquid, the choice wasn't straightforward. Though instinctively leaning towards bottles for their aesthetic appeal, I'm a firm believer in backing decisions with empirical evidence. So, I delved into research to provide a well-informed recommendation. In this quest for answers, I stumbled upon a study conducted at the 2016 Edinburgh Science Festival, where festival-goers participated in a blind taste test of a 'craft beer' served from either a bottle or a can. The results threw fascinating insights into how packaging influences our perception of taste, quality, and overall drinking experience. Does the bottle versus can debate extend beyond beer, affecting how we perceive the taste and quality of other drinks? Have you noticed a difference in taste between beverages served in bottles versus cans? • I’ll drop the link to the full study in the comments #consumerpsychology #consumerinsights #packagingdesign #consumerbehaviour #neuropackaging

Are you the type of person who always drinks soft drinks out of cans, or do you prefer them from glass bottles? Maybe you've never really thought about how different packaging can affect the taste of your favourite carbonated beverage. Well, it turns out that it might actually make more of a difference than you realise! We're currently conducting research on the topic, and early findings suggest that some consumers believe the form of packaging can alter the flavour of their drink. It's definitely an interesting question, and one that deserves more investigation. https://lnkd.in/eNEYN7j5 #research #softdrinks #packaging
