Adding concrete coating will allow you to avoid a floor replacement—saving you a great deal of money—and it will also make your concrete floors: • Last longer. • Less costly to maintain. • More visually appealing. • Resist peeling and cracking. Jpnn. This video documents an elevated walkway surface that's been prepared and recoded. We notice there's some serious damage. From water intrusion I think they had a flood and all the way inside here. This portion is a failed topical coating that's scraped loose and removed. After this work, diamond grinding will clean the residue. After this is finished, shop lasting is done to remove all the surface dust created by the grinding process. The procedure prepares the concrete to ensure coating durability and longevity. To dust free and clean process. Once finished with the blasting, a flexible resin is applied by squeegee and back roll. This is a moisture tolerant and flexible coating product. The remainder of the walkway will be prepared by hand grinders to clean the existing coating along the walkway edges. The aim is to only remove the existing traffic layer which has been worn and is no longer able to be cleaned. The walkway aisle will be prepared by Rotary Grinder. This process is done for the same reason as the hand grinding. The old coding has been worn from use. It's become rough and pitted. This has affected its durability to withstand traffic wear and it's difficult to properly clean. The grinding process effectively removes this dirty layer and prepares the surface for a new coating. It's also a clean process that's completed dust free. After the grinding, the prepared surface is washed by auto scrubber. This cleaning gets the floor ready for the new coating. The new coding is applied over the whole walkway. It's applied by squeegee and back wall. It provides a new base that covers the old. It's also a flexible and moisture tolerant coating that's durable and smooth. Once finished, the old surface is completely covered by the new. This project includes the installation of the decorative border. The owner requested this upgrade to improve the walkways aesthetic appeal. The process includes the use of a resinous coating and colored micro flake. The color chosen here is specific to the customer, but any color blend is possible. Once cured enough to pull the tape. Revealed as a uniform edge that runs the length of the walkway. The border is then vacuum clean of all loose flake. After this, the edge is taped. Then in sealed using a resinous coding. This product protects the flake from stains and fully encapsulates it. This improves durability and also provides a surface that's easy to clean. Finally, the walkway is protected by a water based urethane. It provides a resilient surface that's abrasion resistant, easy to clean, and highly reflective. The result is a uniformly coated walkway. And that's about it. An elevated walkway surface that's been prepared and recoated.
