Together for Safer Roads (TSR) has released a new guide, "Seat Belt Safety Standard Operating Procedures," as part of their Fleet Trucking Global Safety Standards Initiative. Launched during the 2023 UN Global Road Safety Week, this initiative aims to improve fleet safety with guidelines for seat belts, telematics, automatic braking, airbags, and side view mirrors. The guide focuses on enhancing seat belt use through comprehensive training, reliable technology, safety-focused vehicle procurement, enforcement mechanisms, and effective communication. It emphasizes the importance of consistent seat belt usage, based on input from fleet managers, drivers, and industry leaders.
