Plastic is becoming increasingly prevalent in our daily lives at an alarming rate. Utilizing plastic products exposes consumers to many hazardous chemicals and microplastic particles, which have negatively impacted health. Steel has several environmental advantages over plastic, driving the growing popularity of glass bottles. #MobiusFoundation #RethinkEverything #Plastic #Steel #Hazardous #SayNoToPlastic #Environment

Have you ever wondered about where all the plastic that surrounds us comes from? Plastic pellets, aka pre-production microplastics, are being produced in over half of the states in the U.S., and are a major source of plastic pollution in our environment. Learn more with our new resource, "Where is plastic produced?" https://lnkd.in/gw6gB89k #plasticpollution

Paper cups still spread micro plastics. What if there's a solution? What if that solution also cut the need for storage space, allowing businesses to operate with slightly less real estate?
Dr. Sanjivini Sharma on Instagram: "Did you know that most paper cups have a plastic lining? 🌍 While they seem eco-friendly, these cups are difficult to recycle and contribute to plastic pollution. Choose reusable or truly biodegradable alternatives to make a positive impact. Let's work together for a sustainable future! 💚♻️ #PlasticFree #SustainableLiving #EcoFriendly #ReducePlasticWaste #Reusa

5 Best Alternatives to Finally Replace Plastic. Order yourself a LARQ Bottle PureVis 2 to go #plastic free and enjoy ice cold water throughout the entire day. https://lnkd.in/eVkWQpJ7 Plastic is firmly established in our daily lives, but we all know plastic recycling doesn’t really happen. So what can we do? We can convert starches, fungi, seaweed, heck, even shrimp tails into plastic alternatives and #bioplastic. Let’s review five of the most interesting advances I’ve come across — including that shrimpy stuff. But are any of these plastic alternatives actually viable? Or are we literally grasping at straws? 🔻🔻🔻 Click/tap image below to see video on YouTube 🔻🔻🔻

Recycling plastics, both rigid and flexible, comes with unique advantages and challenges: Advantages: Rigid Plastics: Easier to sort and recycle, widely accepted by facilities, and can be converted into durable products. Flexible Plastics: Lightweight and can be repurposed into materials like composite lumber, reducing material waste. Disadvantages: Rigid Plastics: Some types (e.g., colored or mixed polymers) can complicate recycling. Flexible Plastics: Harder to process due to contamination risks, lower recycling rates, and limited facility acceptance. Balancing these factors is key to driving sustainability in packaging! ♻️ #PackagingInnovation #Sustainability #PlasticRecycling

So true! The environmental impact of peel off tacky mats is often overlooked but very significant. We had a few good conversations about this at the recent ISPE Boston Product Show. Dycem Contamination Control can help! Let's talk #sustainability, just one of the many advantages of Dycem!!
Did you know? Peel-off mats may seem convenient, but they have a significant environmental impact 🌍 These mats are made of non-recyclable plastic and adhesive, leading to large amounts of waste. A study showed that a pharmaceutical plant using peel-off mats in just 10 locations could generate 70,000 kg of CO2 from production alone—equal to: 🌲 3,500 trees absorbing CO2 for a year 🚗 15 cars driving for a year ✈️ 30 round-trip flights from London to NYC And that's not counting the 55,000 kg of CO2 from disposal! Dycem mats offer a more sustainable solution, as they are washable and designed to last over 3 years! Is it time to re-think your method of floor-level contamination control? When plastic waste enters the wider environment, over time it gradually breaks down into smaller and smaller pieces. But do you know what the different sizes are called? * Macroplastics are pieces of plastic that are larger than 5 mm (approx. width of a pencil-top eraser). * Large microplastics are between 1 mm (approx. thickness of a standard paperclip) and 5 mm. * Microplastics are between 1 µm (micrometer) and 1,000 µm (1 mm). Bacteria such as E. coli are around 1 µm in diameter. * Nanoplastics are smaller than 1 µm.
