Last Thursday, we gathered at 180 Studios for the fifth edition of Modern Affluence Exchange summit. Our theme, 'reimagining affluence', we have talked about cultural capital since our inception in 2019, but never has the potential return of investment from it looked so significant. We believe that the anxiety facing modern affluent audiences can be partly addressed by brands investing more in their cultural capital. It’s impossible to ignore a stark contrast at Fondazione La Biennale di Venezia: some pavilions are grand and sprawling, while others are small, tucked away, and almost hidden. Most of the largest, most prominent spaces are occupied by countries from the global North - while countries from the global South often have smaller, less visible spaces. Does money really rule the world - even in art? And if it does, what does that mean for the business world, especially when it comes to trade shows and events? At its heart, the Biennale is a platform for creative expression, where nations showcase their cultural identity. But the uneven distribution of resources and space speaks to a deeper issue: Power and capital still determine whose voices get heard the loudest. This isn’t just an art world issue. We see the same dynamics play out in business, especially in the events space. The companies with the biggest budgets get the prime exhibition spots, the largest booths, and the most visibility - while smaller players are often left on the fringes. In both worlds, the loudest, most visible voices aren’t necessarily the most innovative or important, but the ones with the most financial backing. 💸 The core message here is simple: Money plays a central role in determining who gets attention, but that doesn’t mean it’s the most valuable metric. The real question we should be asking ourselves: how we can create spaces where innovation and creativity thrive, regardless of financial power. The Biennale’s setup reflects global inequality, but it also offers a chance to challenge it. Smaller pavilions often house the most thought-provoking, challenging works - just as smaller companies and startups often push the boundaries in business. What if we reimagined trade shows and events to give more space to these smaller, more innovative voices? It’s time to rethink how we allocate space and attention - because the most important voices aren’t always the loudest.

🌟 𝙍𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙛𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝘾𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚: 𝙒𝙝𝙮 𝙒𝙚 𝙉𝙚𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙇𝙤𝙤𝙠 𝘽𝙚𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙇𝙚𝙣𝙨 The smiles at industry events reflect our instinct to capture moments, but the real question remains: Are we collecting memories or capturing transformative ideas? The true value of these conferences isn't found in fleeting snapshots but in the robust exchange of ideas that spark innovation. As we navigate these halls, let us aim for insights that challenge and discussions that propel us forward. In the narrative of our industry, it’s the depth of our insights, not our photo albums, that will define our impact.

A 19th-century workers' museum hosting conversations about 21st-century technology – Arbejdermuseet was the fascinating backdrop for Dialog Digital in Copenhagen today 🇩🇰 Our CEO Coen V. shared insights on a critical challenge facing our sector: digital sustainability. When cultural venues share technology instead of building everything from scratch, they save time, money, and energy that can go where it belongs—creating exceptional experiences. A highlight was catching up with Martin Røen, Director of Godset (our first Danish venue!) whose success story perfectly illustrates this approach. Their team can now make significant website changes without costly rebuilds, proving that sustainable digital solutions are both practical and powerful. The day's standout presentation came from Annesofie Norn of the Museum for the United Nations - UN Live, showcasing their innovative Sounds Right initiative. This project beautifully demonstrates how digital platforms can drive conservation efforts while engaging audiences in meaningful ways. Their website is very therapeutic so worth checking out, especially if you're a fan of field recordings: https://lnkd.in/dGpmdT4y Special thanks to Frederik Fabricius for organising an event that truly embodied its message: the power of collaboration and knowledge sharing in the cultural sector. When cultural organisations share solutions instead of starting from scratch, we all win. The future of arts and culture is collaborative, not competitive. #DialogDigital #CultureTech #DigitalSustainability #ArtsAndCulture #Innovation

The bigger the challenge the higher the feeling of achievement, even if not all the goals have been achieved. True or false? Last weekend, TEDxEleftheriaSquare was more than just an event—it was an experience that brought worlds together, sparked curiosity, and set the stage for something remarkable in Cyprus. Our tagline this year was “Think Beyond, Bridge Worlds”—a powerful yet challenging mantra to live by. This post is about Thinking Beyond (And yes, stay tuned for another posts where I’ll dive into why, despite all of the positive feedback and good achievements, it still wasn’t enough!) ”Thinking Beyond” - what does it mean? For me, it’s about holding onto your dreams fiercely, even when reality tries to pull you back. It’s about pushing yourself past the limits of what you thought possible. The bigger the dream, the more you must stretch yourself—sometimes falling 100 times only to stand up for the 101st attempt, fueled by sheer passion and faith. This event was a living testament to that mindset. Every step, every setback was a step toward something larger. Why don’t we make it open air on the most iconic square of the city? Why don’t we invite the architect of this square to speak? Why don’t we bring people form 5 countries to show the diversity of views? Why don’t we extend the event to 10 speakers and 6 hours long? Why don’t we organize a special kids area right at the event? To be honest, the list of questions is way larger and there are much more questions that we asked ourselves, challenged the team, stretched the boundaries and failed: Why don’t we help speakers to have all the presentations ready 2 weeks before the event? Well, hopefully next time. Why don’t we create pre-event experiences for our guest including museums and gallery tours, city runs and other interesting activities? Not enough capacity this time. Why don’t we offer transportation and accommodation for those who come from other cities or event countries? We are still to proof the value of the partnership with us to many companies. I have an open question — what would you prefer? 1 - Set realistic goals and to achieve them 100% 2 - Stretch the goals, achieve 60%, still do more that in case 1, but have this feeling of failure for some of the ideas #TEDx #TEDxEleftheriaSquare #TEDxES
