In recognition of #CMVAwarenessMonth, we were joined by two incredible speakers who shed light on the importance of understanding and combating #cytomegalovirus (CMV). Dr. Suresh Boppana, who has been studying maternal and congenital cytomegalovirus (cCMV) infection for over 25 years, discussed the overall burden of cCMV, the significance of HCP-led conversations with women, and a breakdown of ongoing research around cCMV. Michelle, mother of a child who was born with congenital CMV, spoke about her family's journey navigating a medical landscape that is often misinformed and lacks resources to discuss the risks of CMV during pregnancy. We are grateful for Michelle and Dr. Boppana for taking the time to speak with our team! #StopCMV #NowIKnowCMV

For the last feature in our #PrideMonth celebration, meet Rebecca Halbur, Associate Director of Trial Master File (TMF) Records Management in the Clinical Development & System Operations team. Born in South Florida and raised in North Carolina, Rebecca earned her undergraduate degree in biology from North Caroline State University, moved to Boston eight years ago to finish her master’s degree in sustainability - and never left! She started her career in pre-clinical research, working on a study for glycogen storage disease. She then transitioned to TMF management in the Clinical Research Organization setting and moved to the sponsor side about eight years ago, building a career around TMF. When she's not learning Japanese, she enjoys gaming, cosplay, cooking, walking, and spoiling her cats. Every spring, she looks forward to attending gaming conventions in Boston with her friends, which are some of her favorite weekends of the year. Rebecca's reflections on Pride Month: "Pride Month reminds me of the love in this community and that it’s okay to be 100% authentically yourself and to also open up a safe space for others who don’t feel safe being out or aren’t sure. It’s such a beautiful celebration of love, and I’m so lucky to be in a city like Boston that is so unapologetically loud and proud." #PrideMonth2024
