Respecting the rights of citizens as a voice for external accountability can be an effective tool to hold governments and UN entities accountable. Governments and UN entities as duty bearers are expected to implement development interventions for the common good of all citizens, especially, those with the greatest need. This expectation also encompasses the need to respect the rights of citizens as a voice for external accountability and the preparedness of governments in UN Program countries to be held accountable through the country’s citizens as a measure for strengthening accountability, transparency, and citizens' participatory oversight.

A more collaborative approach is indeed needed…
"Missions are not just about brokering agreements across central government but also about working beyond SW1, finding new ways of mobilising the country to meet the challenges we face." Together with our Britain Renewed partners Future Governance Forum, we explore how missions can create a more open and collaborative approach to government.
Mission driven government can build a new era of collaboration and shared government

Ahhh so these folks are the reason why a foreign government & the citizens of that foreign nation are prioritized over the American people! & the reason why the American peoples’ taxes are unjustly being diverted to fund, arm, defend, positively-propagandize, politically cover up, & legally defend the current g3n0€ídę… While American citizens & residents contend with: historic inflation, failing healthcare system, failing educational system (in most of the country), crumbling infrastructure, erosion of democratic norms, obscenely high costs of child care, unaffordable housing, ever-growing threats and impacts of climate change, unsolved immigration crisis, food-deserts, health care deserts, lack of adequate mental health care, lack of clean drinking water for all, lack of electricity for all, lack of internet access for all, lack of impartial and unbiased news sources, lack of workers rights, lack of enough free time, lack of sick time, inadequate LOA policies, inability to handle a $500 emergency, living paycheck to paycheck, reliance on government welfare programs despite working two or three jobs, lack of building generational wealth while the upper crust elites of society continue to gorge on their ever increasing supply of $billions and $billions and $trillions and $trillions while telling the rest of us to just “work harder” and make sure you “come back to the office on our schedule”, senators and congresspeople that take our votes but don’t work for our best interests, a POTUS who arrogantly believes it’s his “right” to be elected President again, some law enforcement agencies and agents (federal, state, and local) that seem to operate by “guilty until proven innocent” and not the other way around, the Military-industrial-complex, the prison-industrial-complex, a DoD/Congress/Executive branch that will gladly risk the lives of our soldiers in the armed forces but will never send their own children to “defend our country” from enemies that wouldn’t be our enemies if we didn’t act in bad faith around the world for the last several centuries… Oh and the privilege of PAYING for this nightmare while the CORRUPT politicians, lobbyists, elitists, corporatists, ghastly wealth-hoarders, so called “titans of industry”, technocrats, oligarchs, 21st century robber barons, monopolists, financiers, industrialists, Wall Street denizens, offensive “defense-contractors”, moneyed warmongers and war profiteers, and every other corrupted and avaricious group of this ilk FALL ALL OVER THEMSELVES TO OBSCURE THEIR INCOME AND HIDE THEIR WEALTH IN FOREIGN TAX HAVENS….. No wonder the kids are protesting… https://lnkd.in/eTJhVekq
What does AIPAC stand for? We asked their lobbyists.

📢 We are proud to launch our latest report, 'Play', Solace's take on the 'state of the local nation' in England which outlines all of our key policy asks of the new Government. The report highlights our headline asks of Ministers, which are to: 1. Deliver a truly sustainable multi-year funding settlement for local government. 2. Shift more spending towards social infrastructure, with a specific focus on prevention/early intervention initiatives. 3. Address the workforce capacity and capability crisis facing the local public sector. Solace President Matt Prosser said: "We hope our suggestions help set the long-term path forward and that we begin to see the fundamental reset of the relationship between central and local government that ministers have already pledged. The ‘Play’ report is a blueprint for success, not for local government, but the local communities and people we are proud to serve." Solace Managing Director Graeme McDonald said: “As apolitical public servants with granular expertise of the implementation of policies across a place, Solace members are unique placed to ensure that the new Government can achieve the best possible outcomes for communities across the UK." Sounds an interesting report. The first two of these points were also covered in my response to the 2021 Spending Review (https://lnkd.in/e6-kxvTw) and the Recommendations of my Fragmented Funding report (https://lnkd.in/e6E6z42b) for the Local Government Association.

“People who are blind face an extremely high unemployment rate, and we need to put those people to work. And this is a way that you can do it, at virtually no cost to the taxpayer,” says Dan Kelly, President and CEO of IFB Solutions. National Industries for the Blind (#NIB) and its network of nearly 100 associated nonprofit agencies are advocating for a mandatory 1% AbilityOne Program utilization goal for the United States Department of Defense. “A 1% goal may sound small, but in the context of a $900-billion-dollar defense budget, 1% can make a huge impact.” Discover how this goal could drive significant employment opportunities for people who are blind. Watch our video below for more insights. #DisabilityAdvocacy #Blindness #EmploymentOpportunity #AbilityOne #ChampionEmploymentGrowth

So proud of being part of the Biden-Harris Administration COFA negotiating team which helped negotiate these historic agreements and make significant legislative reforms to our relationship with the Freely Associated States. A huge shout out to the entire COFA negotiation team at State, Interior, and NSC who brought this over to the finish line! While the attention should rightly focus on the $7.1 billion of mandatory funding which is reflective of our steadfast commitment to the Pacific. I want to highlight a couple of other key important changes to the legislation which were not explicitly part of the negotiations but were part of the legislation we submitted to Congress. These important COFA reforms are now law: -The legislation codifies a Freely Associated States (FAS) unit within the East Asia Pacific Affairs (EAP) Bureau at State and ensures flexible hiring authorities to ensure the office is fully staffed. People are policy! -The legislation passed authorizes VA hospital and medical care to COFA veterans. The FAS has some of the highest rate of enlistment! (to learn more on why this is important read here https://lnkd.in/e3PyQWC3) -It codifies the Compact Impact Fairness Act, which would restore federal benefits to FAS migrants, which has been a decades-long fight to secure (for more read here: https://lnkd.in/eS_jBZy9) -It extends key educational benefits to the Freely Associated States such as head start and other programs -It makes national health service corps to the FAS mandatory as well as a few other health services -It established a high-level Interagency Group on Freely Associated States (State, Defense, Interior, others) -It expands the Marshall Islands plant and agricultural maintenance program to include Rongelap and Utrik (to include the four atolls Bikini, Enewetak, Rongelap and Utrik) as well as provide Sec. of Ag authorization. https://lnkd.in/epVbQX2Q

A policy-capable and operationally efficient public service is any government’s best asset! Without political will and support from the top, this is never going to happen. 😞 #timetofixthefederalpublicservice
Opinion: The federal public service is broken. Is it too late to try to fix it?
