Alright SPECT/CT crew, hold your horses! We've tackled room design, secret services, and even the amazing machines. But there's still a secret weapon hiding in the shadows... the SPECT/CT control room! Think of it as the SPECT/CT scanner's brain, making sure everything runs smoothly. Let's peek behind the curtain and see how this control room keeps the magic happening! 𝐒𝐏𝐄𝐂𝐓/𝐂𝐓 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐥 𝐑𝐨𝐨𝐦 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬: 𝐑𝐨𝐨𝐦 𝐒𝐢𝐳𝐞: The size of the control room should be sufficient to accommodate the necessary equipment, workstations, and personnel The AusHFG recommends a floor space of 14 square meters for SPECT/CT Control Room. 𝐑𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠: Walls, doors, and windows shall be constructed with lead or equivalent materials to contain radiation within the room, protecting the staff. 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐎𝐛𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐰: To ensure that the patient remains properly positioned throughout the scan, and to visually monitor the patient for any signs of distress or discomfort during the scan. 𝐒𝐏𝐄𝐂𝐓/𝐂𝐓 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐥 𝐑𝐨𝐨𝐦 𝐄𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭: 1- SPECT/CT Control Console: This is the central workstation for the technologist. 2- Communication System: A microphone and speaker system to allow clear communication with the patient during the scan. 3- Workstations: High-resolution monitors for viewing and analysing SPECT/CT images. 4- Display screen for contrast injector. 5- Slave display screen for patient monitor. Nailed the SPECT/CT room layout! By thinking about both the design and the gadgets inside, we can create rooms that are safe, work like a charm, and keep everyone happy - patients and healthcare heroes alike.
